Deck Derrick Crane, Lifting and Erection of Steel Box Girder Blocks of the 3rd Nanjing Changjiang River Bridge

The steel box girder blocks of the 3rd Nanjing Changjiang River Bridge are lifted and erected by deck derrick crane.The lifting,adjusting and shifting of the crane on longitudinal,lateral gradients and in horizontal direction are all completed by the hydraulic system(equipped) for the crane.The operation of the crane is smooth,easy and can be freely fine adjusted,and precision of the erection of the box girder blocks with the crane is high.In this paper,the structure,utilization of the deck derrick crane and corresponding workmanship and key techniques having been applied to the lifting and erection of the box girder blocks of the Bridge are described in a brief account.
