Abstract:The Dayun Road Bridge in the Comprehensive Reform Zone of Shanxi Province crosses the Xiaohe River and stretches northward to the downtown of Taiyuan City.The bridge carries 8 vehicle lanes(four in each direction),serving as the main axis of Xiaohe Industrial Park and mainstay corridor for local exchange.To reflect the design idea of water culture,curve lines are the salient feature of the bridge,which takes the form of a close spiral arch structure.The bridge consists of two main spans of 110 m and two side spans of 65 m,a large skew arch spans 220 m and enclose the two main spans,and the smaller outward arch on each side spans 110 m,and the two smaller arches are inversely symmetrical to each other against the large skew arch,resembling a DNA spiral.The golden ratio of the components and harmonious combination creates quite an aesthetically pleasing structure.In such an arch and girder composite structure,the seismic isolation bearings are installed beneath the cross beams of the arches.The stability and dynamic property analysis indicate that the irrational loading condition caused by the structural configuration is within the controllable range.To make a trade-off between the aesthetics and mechanical property,a rise-to-span ratio of 1/3.5,outward inclination of 25°and arch axis coefficient of 1 are advised as well,and the semi-closed steel box girder,steel box arches and fork anchorages for hangers are recommended.
