| Abstract: | This paper presents the details about the observation of temperature and strain changes of the main abutment of the forth bridge on Xiangjiang River in Xiangtan. Base on the preparation works and observed results, it discusses the effect of cooling water pipes, summarizes the effective methods to reduce the maximum temperature of large mass concrete and to control the temperature difference and temperature stress. |
