| Abstract: | In the light of the basic characteristics of the navigable rivers in the mountainous regions and the characteristics of river course, the issues that should be given due consideration to when selecting sites for a bridge and make designs are described. On the basis of evaluation of impact of bridge construction upon navigation in the rivers, measures and precautions that should be taken to ensure the safety of navigation in a section of a river where a bridge is built are expounded. |
