| Abstract: | A rational method based on the concept of structural redundancy and reliability analysis is presented in this paper to estimate the residual longitudinal strength of damaged ship hull. Emphasis is given to the definition of a new probabilistic measure of structural redundancy. Semi-analytical calculation models of damaged structural members with initial elasto-plastic distortion are briefly discussed. And finally, a numerical example is implemented and some conclusions have been drawn. |
