Abstract:At present,the dynamic response of ship shaft brushless doubly-fed generators(BDFGs)is unsatisfactory in the proportional-integral(PI)control of grid connection.In view of this,the paper integrated the sliding mode control and the vector control to develop a sliding mode control strategy for grid connection based on the exponential reaching law.The output voltage tracking and grid-connection transition of the BDFGs were simulated with Simulink under three scenarios:ideal condition,grid voltage fluctuation,and generator parameter perturbation.The experimental results showed that the voltage difference was almost zero in the case of sliding mode control for grid connection and no transient impulse current was detected in power winding.In conclusion,the sliding mode control outperforms the traditional PI control in the speed and accuracy of grid voltage tracking and is robust against parameter perturbation and external disturbance.
