Future Development and Thoughts on the Integration of Naval Gun and Missile

Precision guided technology and extended range ammunition are applied to the naval gun system. It is believed that launching missiles with gun system can be implemented with the rapid development of the technology. In our view, common-frame launch is the best way to integrate the naval gun with the missile system. The significant roles of gun and missile systems in the naval warfare are summarized in this paper. The technology integration and use for reference by the two systems are analyzed, followed by a discussion of the effectiveness and utility of the guided ammunition that plays a significant role in modem warfare. Also the future development and trends of the integration of gun system with missile are forecasted. Thoughts on the development of the integration of gun with missile are put forward.
