Performance Comparison and Analysis of Heating and Ventilation of Two Kinds of Roof Solar Collectors

Two roof solar collectors (RSCs), conventional single pass RSC and new double pass RSC, were compared. The new roof solar collector, which is formed by integrating a double pass solar air collector with the roof of the building, can be operated more efficiently for space heating in winter, and for natural ventilation in other seasons. To evaluate the performances of the two RSCs for both space heating and natural ventilation, a single traditional Chinese style house, on which the two RSCs will be mounted, was developed. The efficiency of solar energy conversion for the new RSC is higher than that of the single pass one by 10% on average, and the ventilation rate contributed by natural ventilation for the new RSC can be improved to a great extent for most cases, indicating that the new RSC is superior to the single pass one from the viewpoint of both space heating and natural ventilation. The new RSC is more potential for improving indoor thermal environment and energy saving of buildings.     

Optimization of PERT Network and Compression of Time

In the traditional methods of program evaluation and review technique （PERT） network optimization and compression of time limit for project, the uncertainty of free time difference and total time difference were not considered as well as its time risk. The authors of this paper use the theory of dependent-chance programming to establish a new model about compression of time for project and multi-objective network optimization, which can overcome the shortages of traditional methods and realize the optimization of PERT network directly. By calculating an example with genetic algorithms, the following conclusions are drawn： （ 1 ） compression of time is restricted by cost ratio and completion probability of project; （2） activities with maximal standard difference of duration and minimal cost will be compressed in order of precedence; （3） there is no optimal solutions but noninferior solutions between chance and cost, and the most optimal node time depends on decision-maker＇s preference.

Isolation and Characterization of Microorganisms for Degradation of Minimal Oils and Fats at Low Temperatures

The isolation of microorganisms for biodegradation of minimal fats and oils at low temperatures was reported. By using rapeseed oil as a sole carbon source, six strains were isolated from five kinds of oils/fats-contaminated wastewater, soil, and active sludge. Among them, two strains which show the highest oil removal ratios were identified as Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes and Pseudornonas mendocina, respectively. The experiments of orthogonal impact conditions show that the optimal oil degradation condition is at pH 8.0, 5 C and 100 mg/L oil. Under this condition, the rapeseed oil degradation ratios of two strains after 24 hours amount to 92. 6% and 92.0% respectively, whereas the removal ratios of lard decrease to 39.5% and 54.3%.

Technology Spillover and Licensing Strategy of Patentee

The optimal license proportions with and without technology spillover are analyzed with a game-theoretical approach when a patent-holding firm licensed non-drastic process innovation to his incumbent rivals by means of a first price sealed bid auction. The optimal strategy is obtained through solving the game by backward induction. It is found that the range of optimal license proportion is narrower when there is spillover compared to the no spillover case.
