However,there has not been a sea harbor in Shanghaiuntil today when this dream enters a newchapter as the core project of ShanghaiInternational Shipping Center, theYangshan Deepwater Harbor, after threeyears' construction, is to be opened by theend of this year.

On 7 Oct.2005,the International PropellerClub of the United States presented the International Maritime Achievement Award to Capt. Wei Jiafu, President and CEO of COSCO Group. Capt. Wei Jiafu thus became the first non-American CEO of a shipping company who has ever received this award since 1927. One more record for Capt. Wei! With his rich knowledge in economics and corporate management, international operation, good education with international background, and his overseas working experiences, it is no surprise that Capt. Wei has won high respect from the world business community.

Personal history Mr. CC Tung was born into the world of shipping but had to earn his position as the leader of Orient Overseas （International） Limited （OOIL） through hard work and vision, Mr. Tung was educated and trained as an engineer and received his Bachelorof Science Degree from the University of Liverpool, England. He acquired a Master＇s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States. In 1968, he joined the family business in New York, where, for over the next two decades, he managed the company＇s US operations and explored business opportunities in South America.

Personal history I began my career with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines （MOL） upon graduation from Kyoto University in 1967. During my 38year career at the company, I have been involved in a broad range of maritime activities, and have witnessed dramatic changes in the industry as it has sought to meet the changing needs of societies and the globalization of economies. Key events in my career include a posting to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines＇ San Francisco Representative Office from 1975 to 1979;becoming a staff officer of the Planning Division in 1987, followed by a promotion to Deputy General Manager of the Division in 1988; appointment as General Manager of Europe and Oceania Division in 1993; being elected to a directorship in 1996; promotion to Managing Director in 1998, Senior Managing Director in 2000, Deputy President in 2003, and finally President in 2004. For me, the shipping industry is both a business and a passion. I am extremely excited about the changes and challenges that lie ahead for the industry as we begin the 21^st Century, and consider myself to be in a most enviable position leading Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, a company at the vanguard of shipping developments, in these exhilarating times.
