This paper deals with the modelling of yaw dampers and determining the influence of the modelling of this component on the results obtained when predicting the dynamic stability of a vehicle. The first part of the work analyses the influence of the yaw damper characteristics on railway dynamic stability. Following this, a physical model of the damper is developed which allows its performance to be reproduced accurately in the whole range of operating conditions the damper is envisaged to operate in. Once obtained, it was found that the computational cost of the model was relatively high. Therefore, a simplified model has been developed. The simplified model allows obtaining accurate results without excessively increasing the time required to perform the simulations. Analysing the results obtained with this model, it has been concluded that with respect to previous model based on conventional approaches, it improves the accuracy of dynamic calculation for the stability assessment. Also, it has been found that the accurate modelling of the yaw damper is critical when dealing with the vehicle's dynamic performance. In the last part of the paper, a special type of yaw damper was studied as well as its effect on the dynamic behaviour of the vehicle. 相似文献

Estimation of lateral offset and drift angle for application in secondary collision avoidance system

Recent reports show that the secondary collision on the road gives much higher fatality rate than the other traffic accidents. Many studies have been carried out to prevent the secondary accidents and as a result automotive companies began to introduce brake-based secondary collision avoidance systems. To prevent the secondary accidents it is important to monitor and control the lateral deviation of the vehicle after the primary collision. An estimator for the vehicle’s lateral offset and drift angle based on the in-vehicle sensors and the camera was developed in this paper. By employing sensor fusion scheme and applying extended Kalman filter, the estimator has been designed so that it works even when the camera loses the image of the lanes due to sudden change of the vehicle’s heading angle. For validation of the estimator, simulation has been carried out on various collision scenarios. The simulation results indicated that the estimator of this paper could calculate the vehicle’s lateral deviation with robustness that may be required for application in the secondary collision avoidance systems. 相似文献

World Energy Outlook are claiming that the petroleum is around the peak of its production (Figure 1). Such shortage made the
greatest impact on the gasoline price hikes at the gas pump and thus, this impact was felt by the consumers severely and became
the greatest motivation for automotive industries to strive to pioneer the researches for the next generation vehicle configurations
ranging from HEV, PHEV, Pure EV to FCHEV (collectively noted as xEV). While the great deal of researches has been carried
over the last few decades, it is still far from mass productions for consumer use except for the HEV mainly due to the high
cost involved with other types of xEV configurations. Therefore, it is critical to design the vehicle to maximize the use
of each component at its highest point regardless of any cost scenarios and it is clear that this optimization can only be
achieved through the accurate energy balance simulation for a specific target vehicle prior to the actual hardware implementation.
In this paper, it is our intention to introduce modified dynamic battery modeling scheme that would provide a more accurate
way of simulating the battery behavior when used in the vehicle energy simulation system. Starting from a typical battery
dynamic model to predict the voltage given an imposed current request, we have introduced a new scheme to establish the relationship
between the voltage and the power (rather than the current) requested by the vehicle simulation system. The proposed scheme
handles the power request from the vehicle simulator considering the dynamic battery characteristics and in turn, contributes
to the better estimation of the current integrated energy usage and battery SOC level in the given battery dynamic system

Summary The steering type of a mechanical guidance system has been used for Automated Guideway Transit (AGT) system in Japan. Recently, the single-axle bogie system has developed for AGT vehicle and applied to Yurikamome 7200 type vehicle. This paper describes dynamic characteristics of AGT vehicle with single-axle bogies. Introducing a nonlinear, 15 degree-of-freedom dynamic model, a computer simulation study on the lateral motion of the AGT vehicle with single-axle bogies are carried out. In order to show the dynamic characteristics of the single-axle bogie clearly, it is compared to that of the AGT vehicle with conventional steering system. The simulation study with actual vehicle parameters shows that single-axle bogie has suitable characteristics for AGT system. The multi-body dynamics modeler, DADS, is used to build the dynamic model of AGT vehicle with single-axle bogies and this is used to demonstrate the vehicle motion in actual guideway. Obtained results are compared to that of the field test. It is shown that the vehicle dynamic response can be obtained in realistic situation by using multibody dynamics code, that is useful for designing both vehicle and guideway. 相似文献
