Due to the spatial complexity and fabrication characteristics of offshore platforms, it is inevitable to encounter overlaps or proximity of weld lines in tubular joints. Several international standards such as American Petroleum Institute (API), American Welding Society (AWS), and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) regulate the minimum distance between primary weld beads; however, any logical and detailed background of this limitation has not been presented. For a non-compliant weld joint where the regulation is not met, fracture toughness calculation is a typical index to verify the structural integrity.This research consists of two parts. First, weld residual stress distributions are calculated by a 3D thermo-mechanical nonlinear Finite Element Analysis. Two crossing welds, a T-weld crossing on a butt weld, are simulated in one model. A separate tee and a butt welding simulations are also performed for a comparative purpose. Second, SIFs and J-integral values are calculated at the surface and deepest crack tip locations for four different types of semi-elliptical surface cracks. Four cracks are embedded into the weld model and the residual stress distribution from the 3D thermo-mechanical FEA are mapped to a 3D FE crack model as initial conditions. An additional axial tensile load is also imposed. SIF values are compared with those using the weighting function method for the butt weld model subject to three load cases, i.e., tensile stress only, weld residual stress only, and both of them. From the simulation, a tubular joint containing a chord girth weld intersected with weld beads of brace is found to show lower the SIF values than that having only a girth weld on chord.  相似文献

In load-carrying fillet welded connections, two fatigue failure modes are possible i.e. weld toe cracking and weld root cracking. The fatigue life associated with weld root cracking is typically much lower than weld toe cracking, exhibiting a wider scatter band, especially for welded aluminum alloys. This paper examines fatigue failure mode transition behaviors in load-carrying fillet welds made of aluminum and their governing parameters, among plate thickness, weld penetration, joint misalignment, weld material, and ultrasound impact peening(UIP). Through both experimental and theoretical studies, a quantitative fillet weld sizing criterion was proposed for avoiding weld root cracking in fillet-welded aluminum connections.  相似文献

我公司为提高造船生产效率及年造船吨位,于2008年初在制造部筹划引进了一条以生产76000t散货船货舱区平直分段为主的平面分段流水线,其设计的年生产能力为制造12 m×12 m的分段1969个/年。该流水线于2010年6月开始在工厂总装、调试并试生产至今。由于设备本身及各种因素影响,试生产过程中遇到如焊材选择、大拼板横向焊缝处理、十字、T字接头的焊接及裂纹的处理等焊接方面的问题。针对这些问题,技术部门及生产部门进行了分析、研究,并采取了相应的措施,使该平面分段流水线能够顺利地进行运作。  相似文献

The effect of weld geometric profile on fatigue life of laser-welded HSLA-65 steel is evaluated. Presented are results of cruciform-shaped fatigue specimens with varying weld profiles loaded cyclically in axial tension–compression. Specimens with a nearly circular-weld profile were created at 133 cm/min, as part of this effort, with a hybrid laser gas-metal-arc welding GMAW (L/GMAW) process. The ability of the laser-welding process to produce desirable weld profiles resulted in fatigue life superior to that of conventional welds. Comparison of finite-element analyses, used to estimate stress-concentration factors, to the hot spot and mesh insensitive approaches for convergent cases with smooth weld transitions is presented in relation to the experimental results. When a geometry-based stress concentration factor is used, the fatigue tests show much less variability and can be lumped into one master curve.  相似文献

对接、T型接头与十字接头是船舶与海洋结构的典型结构形式,其大部分疲劳失效是由于焊趾引起的.各种表面裂纹的应力强度因子计算是船舶与海洋结构基于断裂力学安全评定和疲劳寿命预测的基础.Bowness等人提出了T型接头焊趾表面裂纹应力强度因子计算式,作者对其复杂的计算式进行了简化.BS7910针对对接、T型接头与十字接头提出了两套焊趾应力强度因子表达式,一是针对二维表面裂纹提出的,一是针对三维表面裂纹提出的.本文对作者给出的简化表达式以及BS7910的两套表达式进行了比较.结果表明作者给出的简化表达式不仅可以用来计算T型接头的焊趾表面裂纹应力强度因子,而且可以用来计算对接与十字接头焊趾表面裂纹的应力强度因子.同时发现在a/T<0.05处三者的差别比较大,因此用有限元法进行了验证,结果证明作者给出的简化表达式比其他表达式更加合理.  相似文献

针对船舶建造中的平对接焊缝,采用不同厚度钢材料母材,分别进行数字射线检测(Digital Radiography Testing, DRT)和常规胶片射线检测(Radiography Testing, RT)的检测技术标准等效性要求对比和检测等效性试验,并对试板焊缝缺陷的DRT和常规胶片RT进行评定。结果表明,DRT与常规胶片RT具有等效性。  相似文献

在船用钢薄板的焊接过程中,不但会产生常见的焊接变形,也有可能产生焊接失稳变形。本文以焊缝的固有变形为依据,阐明船用钢薄板对接焊失稳变形产生的内在机理;同时,以固有变形为输入参数,通过弹性有限元分析的数值模拟,预测出可能产生的失稳变形模态和变形值;最终,通过四种不同的工艺方法(激光焊、瞬态热拉伸、随焊激冷和间断焊等),来减小固有变形的数值,并控制薄板对接焊接头可能产生的失稳变形。  相似文献

超高强度钢EH47广泛应用于超大型集装箱船舱口围板等区域结构中,建造过程中常常伴随着较大的焊接残余应力,直接影响到船体结构的安全及使用寿命。论文基于有限元分析软件ANSYS,对平板对接焊进行模拟,得到焊接残余应力的大小和分布,并采用盲孔法对焊缝区域进行残余应力测量。结果表明:残余应力在靠近焊缝中心及区域附近处表现为拉应力,随着逐渐往焊缝中心靠拢,拉应力迅速增大,当达到焊缝中心附近时拉应力达到最大值。随着逐渐远离焊缝中心,拉应力迅速减小,达到一定距离时转变为压应力,并在距离焊趾2.5 cm处达到压应力最大值,数值模拟结果与试验测量值基本吻合,同时焊后热处理能有效降低有损结构强度的焊接残余应力。  相似文献

In support of the development of improved fillet weld sizing criteria for lightweight shipboard structures, a comprehensive static strength test program using longitudinal and transverse shear specimens according to AWS B4.0 Standards has been conducted. This test program covers base material with strength ranging from 71 ksi (490 MPa) to 96 ksi (660 MPa) and weld size ranging from 1/8″ (3 mm) to 3/8″ (10 mm). This paper focuses on a traction stress based analysis of the test data as an effort to establish a unified shear strength definition for load-carrying fillet weld specimens regardless of shear loading conditions. The proposed shear strength definition proves to be effective in correlating the fillet weld strength test data of the longitudinal and transverse shear specimens. The results of this investigation demonstrate that existing shear strength definitions used by various weld sizing criteria such as those given by Class Societies have two major limitations: (1) it cannot be related to a critical stress state on experimentally observed failure plane in transverse shear specimens; (2) it underestimates shear stress at failure due to severe stress concentration at weld end in typical longitudinal shear specimens. These two limitations have been shown to be the major cause for having two significantly different shear strength values: one is transverse shear strength obtained from transverse shear specimens and the other is longitudinal shear strength obtained from longitudinal shear specimens.  相似文献

The accurate assessment of the remaining strength of corroded pipes is a subject that has been increasingly investigated over the past decades. This is because of the risk of significant social, economic, and environmental effects that may be caused by an accident. The finite element method has been successfully used to predict the collapse pressure considering external load. It was also used in this study. The literature primarily focused on the corroded pipes subjected to internal pressure. In this study, the out-of-roundness (ovalization) of the pipe was considered to evaluate the collapse pressure. Uncertainties should be incorporated into a computational model to assess the reliability of corroded pipes. Three methods for evaluation of the probability of failure were used: the first-order reliability method (FORM), traditional Monte Carlo (MC), and a new proposed methodology that combines MC results with the kernel density estimation method (MCkde). The probability of failure of ovalized corroded pipes subject to external pressure was computed. The results exhibited a good agreement between FORM and MCkde method. The statistical importance of each random variable was observed and the results were compared with those from intact ovalized pipes. The computation cost of the MC method with numerical simulation limits its use to the application under study. Solutions using the FORM and MCkde methods exhibited good agreement with those of the full MC method. However, the computational effort of the latter was independent of the stochastic dimension, and it was a derivative-free method. As expected, in general, the solutions based on empirical methods were conservative.  相似文献

钛合金具有高强耐蚀、易焊等优质性能,广泛用于潜艇、深潜器等潜水器的受力构件及耐压耐蚀壳体。在焊接过程中,会不可避免的产生焊接残余应力,较大的焊接残余应力会影响焊接结构的安全性能,而焊后热处理能够有效减少焊接残余应力。本文首先采用数值模拟的方法对TC4对接焊平板热处理前后的残余应力进行计算,通过与试验结果进行对比研究,验证有限元数值模拟的合理性;然后采用该数值模拟方法研究Ti80对接焊平板多层多道焊的整个焊接过程以及焊后热处理方法。结果表明,焊后Ti80对接焊平板表面具有较大横向和纵向残余拉应力,通过热处理工艺后,残余拉应力得到明显降低。因此,通过焊后热处理方法可以在很大程度上降低对焊接结构力学性能可能产生的不利影响的残余拉应力。  相似文献

The use of high performance structural composites has become very important over the last decades, especially where weight is an essential factor. Particularly in the oil and gas industry, several designs of composite pipes for deep water applications have been recently proposed as competitive solutions against traditional steel pipes. Thus, it is important to assess the performance of composite pipes under high external pressure in order to avoid pipe failure or overconservative designs. In this paper, experimental tests of different composite pipe configurations are performed and then compared to analytical and numerical predictions. Unlike the case of internal pressure loads, the collapse pressure of composite pipes depends on the initial ovality and on the ply stacking sequence. The collapse resistance of different composite pipes is firstly studied through simplified analytical equations combined with different failure criteria. Then, a finite element model is developed using a progressive failure criterion [1]. Both analytical and numerical failure predictions were compared to experimental tests carried out on four composite pipes produced with different ply stacking sequence by the filament winding method [2]. An experimental-numerical-analytical comparison shows that numerical and analytical models provide results in good agreement with those obtained experimentally. Finally, a parametric analysis is carried out to show the effect of ovality and ply stacking sequence on the failure pressure of composite pipes.  相似文献

加肋锥一环一柱结合壳是柱壳与锥壳连接的一种新型的、优越的结构形式,它能大幅降低锥、柱壳结合部的应力峰值,提高承压能力,结合部结构重量较现在采用的加强结构重量小,最大应力不出现在结合部焊缝上.文中展示系列模型试验结果,通过比较分析,验证加肋锥一环一柱结合壳的优越性,验证课题组提出的计算加肋轴对称结合壳应力和稳定性的"分区样条等参元方法"和"ARSASS"程序的正确性.  相似文献

利用三维有限元计算了焊趾处半椭圆表面裂纹的应力强度因子。利用统一的权函数形式,结合得到裂纹半长比a/c=0.2;0.4;0.6;0.8,a/t=0.1~0.8的有限元数据,得到了适用于T型接头焊趾处半椭圆表面裂纹最深点和表面点的权函数。权函数的准确性,用有限元在裂纹面施加高阶载荷进行了验证,对于表面点和最深点,半长比a/c=0.2~0.8,a/t=0.1~0.8,权函数与有限元结果误差在8%以下。基于得到的权函数,计算了T型接头焊趾处半椭圆表面裂纹的残余应力强度因子Kres,并与有限元计算结果进行对比,对比误差在10%以下,表明新的权函数能很好地预测T型接头焊趾处的残余应力强度因子。  相似文献

Helically armored cables or pipes find a wide range of applications as structural members in engineering. An example of this is the increasing use of flexible pipes in the oil offshore production. Although keeping a geometrical similarity with other helically armored structures such as wire ropes and ACSR conductors, and borrowing from them a useful methodology for the structural analysis, some care must be taken in order not to indiscriminately use an approach which was not thought for a flexible pipe: internal and external pressures, for instance, are a great concern in the analysis of flexible pipes, but obviously not for wire ropes. This work aims at giving some additional contribution to the structural response of flexible pipes when subjected to axisymmetric loads, including the effect of both internal and external pressure in pipe displacements. Derivation of linear operators, relating the stress-resultants to their related displacements or deformations in each of the layers of the pipe, as well as the process of deriving an analogous linear operator to represent the behavior of the pipe as a whole, are clearly presented, highlighting interesting mathematical aspects and their associated physical meaning. A numerical case study of a 2.5″ flexible pipe subjected to traction and internal pressure is also presented and discussed.  相似文献

Stress concentration and residual stress have a significant influence on fatigue life of welded joints. In order to reduce the stress concentration of welded joints, a mathematical design method of tensile triangles (MTT) based on bionics was applied to weld shape design. Accordingly, the stress concentration of various weld beads in the corner boxing welded joint and the fillet welded T-joint was dissected using our in-house FEM software JWRIAN. It was found that there existed a large stress concentration in the conventional welded joints, whereas those welded joints with elongated weld bead were accompanied by a lower stress concentration, especially for elongated weld bead with MTT design. Furthermore, among the weld shapes of the corner boxing fillet welded joint, the rectangle shape of weld bead had the minimum stress concentration factor (1.05). For the fillet welded T-joint with MTT design, the stress concentration of weld toe decreased dramatically with the increase of the index of designed shape, but there was a minor difference of stress concentration at weld root between the weld beads with MTT design. In addition, application of low transformation temperature (LTT) weld metal utilizing martensitic transformation to the fillet welded T-joints can produce compressive residual stress at weld toe.  相似文献
