In 2007, 19% of global sea-borne staple goods were transported to China, 20% of containers came from China and 39% of newbuilding orders flew into China. China's global influence is getting increasingly bigger. Then how to develop Chinese shipping and shipbuilding industries? At the end of August 2007, the national shipbuilding industry work meeting was held in Qingdao, Shandong province. The meeting is the first of its kind since the adoption of China's reform and open-door policy. Officials and experts from 17 ministries and bureaus including COSTIND, ministry of finance, commerce, agriculture and communications as well as banking industries and maritime universities took part in this pageant of shipbuilding industry.  相似文献

Personal history I began my career with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) upon graduation from Kyoto University in 1967. During my 38year career at the company, I have been involved in a broad range of maritime activities, and have witnessed dramatic changes in the industry as it has sought to meet the changing needs of societies and the globalization of economies. Key events in my career include a posting to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines' San Francisco Representative Office from 1975 to 1979;becoming a staff officer of the Planning Division in 1987, followed by a promotion to Deputy General Manager of the Division in 1988; appointment as General Manager of Europe and Oceania Division in 1993; being elected to a directorship in 1996; promotion to Managing Director in 1998, Senior Managing Director in 2000, Deputy President in 2003, and finally President in 2004. For me, the shipping industry is both a business and a passion. I am extremely excited about the changes and challenges that lie ahead for the industry as we begin the 21^st Century, and consider myself to be in a most enviable position leading Mitsui O.S.K. Since this year, international concern about shiprecycling industry has been ascending. At the beginning of this year, the Convention on the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships of IMO after further negotiation and improvement has fixed the date for adoption. The green paper on better ship dismantling launched by EU also aroused wide concern from the industry. Almost at the same time, BIMCO held a special workshop on ship scrapping at its Asia forum in June. So there are all the indications that international community is quickly focusing on green ship-scrapping. This has brought a favorable opportunity of devel- opment to the Chinese shiprecycling industry which has long aimed at safety, environmentally-friendliness and occupational health.  相似文献

The constant introduction,modification and revision of international maritime conventions and regulations have been exerting more and more important influence on the development of region,country,industry and enterprises in almost every sector of maritime activities. Shipbuilding industry is known as the top of all industries. The world No.1 shipbuilding country has been the long-cherished wish for China. With the continuous increase of economic and technical strengths, China's dream of becoming the world No.1 shipbuilding country seems to come close. However, crank-shaft as the heart of engine which is the heart of large-size ships often makes us in the state of embarrassment. Now, after some twists and turns, in terms of large marine crankshaft, China has broken through the technology barriers set by foreign crankshaft manufacturers and can make our own heart for large-size ships. In this paper, in order to implement the share and exchange of the ship product data, a new kind of global function model is established. By researching on the development and trend of the application of ship STEP ( standard for the exchange of product model data) standards, the AIM (application interpreted model) of AP216 is developed and improved as an example, aiming at the characteristics and practical engineering of ship industry in our country. The data exchange interfaces are formed based on STEP in the CAD/CAM for the ship by all function modules and shared databases under the global function model. The share and exchange of all information and data are solved in the design, manufacture and all life-cycle of ship products among different computer application systems. Yang Ming charters four vessels Yang Ming Line recently signed a 3—year long lease agreement to charter 4 vessels of 1100TEU which will be delivered in November from Great Union Shipping Corp. These four carriers all fly Singapore flag.
