The catenary-pantograph system and its dynamic behaviour play a decisive role for high speed trains from the power collecting point of view. The decisive criterion for assessing the contact quality is to reduce the contact force variability as far as possible. In this paper active pantograph elements are introduced in order to improve the system performance. The control strategy is based on Extended Kalman Filter technique, used to get a contact force estimation available for control feedback. The same estimation procedure based on the Extended Kalman Filter is also used to obtain some information useful to overhead line diagnostic purposes.  相似文献

SUMMARY

In pantographs used for current collection on high speed electric trains it is desirable to minimise the fluctuations in the contact force between the collector head and the catenary. A simple two-mass linear model is employed for the pantograph and the design of the proposed control system is based on the input admittance at low frequencies. Frequency shaping is incorporated in the performance index, and a simple dynamic controller is employed to achieve optimality in an equivalent transformed system, while minimising the number of feedback quantities to be measured. A significant reduction in the average contact force appears possible.  相似文献

The paper discusses the application to real data of an identification procedure based on an Extended Kalman Filter, for estimating the equivalent non-linear suspension tyre cornering forces of a road vehicle from a single standard manoeuvre. In particular, both the steady-state and the dynamic handling characteristics can be evaluated.  相似文献

Automated vehicles require information on the current road condition, i.e. the tyre–road friction coefficient for trajectory planning, braking or steering interventions. In this work, we propose a framework to estimate the road friction coefficient with stability and robustness guarantee using total aligning torque in vehicle front axle during steering. We first adopt a novel strategy to estimate the front axle lateral force which performs better than the classical unknown input observer. Then, combined with an indirect measurement based on estimated total aligning torque and front axle lateral force, a non-linear adaptive observer is designed to estimate road friction coefficient with stability guarantee. To increase the robustness of the estimation result, criteria are proposed to decide when to update the estimated road conditions. Simulations and experiments under various road conditions validate the proposed framework and demonstrate its advantage in stability by comparing it with the method utilising the wide-spread Extended Kalman Filter.  相似文献

In this study, a hierarchical structured direct yaw-moment control (DYC) system, which consists of a main-loop controller and a servo-loop controller, is designed to enhance the handling and stability of an in-wheel motor driven driven electric vehicle (IEV). In the main loop, a Fractional Order PID (FO-PID) controller is proposed to generate desired external yaw moment. A modified Differential Evolution (M-DE) algorithm is adopted to optimize the controller parameters. In the servo-loop controller, the desired external yaw moment is optimally distributed to individual wheel torques by using sequential quadratic programming (SQP) approach, with the tire force boundaries estimated by Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) based on a fitted empirical tire model. The IEV prototype is virtually modelled by using Adams/Car collaborating with SolidWorks, validated by track tests, and serves as the control plant for simulation. The feasibility and effectiveness of the designed control system are examined by simulations in typical handling maneuver scenarios.  相似文献

This paper deals with the application of stochastic state estimators in vehicle dynamics control. It is often unrealistic to assume that all vehicle states and the disturbances acting on it can be measured. System states that cannot be measured directly, can be estimated by a Kalman Filter. The idea of the Kalman filter is to implement a model of the real system in an on-board computer in parallel with the system itself. This paper will give 3 examples of this principle applied to automotive systems.  相似文献

SUMMARY

An adaptive control system of the model following type is proposed for drive motion control of a four wheel steering (4WS) car with using neural network (NN) which has mastered nonlinear friction force between tire and road surface. A model of one rigid body is adopted which represents appropriately two kinds of car motion caused by steering action, namely the lateral displacement and the yawing rotation, and an equation of motion is described in a simplified form to make a system equation for motion control possible. Nonlinear relation between the cornering force of tire and the slip angle is obtained by numerical analysis with the tire model proposed by E. Fiala, taking friction coefficient and car speed as the parameters. The result is used as the teaching signal for NN. Three NN are used in the control system composed of both the feed-forward and the feedback circuits in order to realize adaptive control. Validity and usefulness of the proposed adaptive control system with NN are verified by three kinds of computer simulation.  相似文献

SUMMARY

Most vehicle suspension systems use fixed passive components that offer a compromise in performance between sprung mass isolation, suspension travel, and tireroad contact force. Recently, systems with discretely adjustable dampers and air springs been added to production vehicles. Active and semi-active damping concepts for vehicle suspensions have also been studied theoretically and with physical prototypes. This paper examines the optimal performance comparisons of variable component suspensions, including active damping and full-state feedback, for “quartercar” heave models. Two and three dimensional optimizations are computed using performance indicators to find the component parameters (control gains) that provide “optimal” performance for statistically described roadway inputs. The effects of performance weighting and feedback configuration are examined. Active damping is shown to be mainly important for vehicle isolation. A passive vehicle suspension can control suspension travel and tire contact force nearly as well as a full state feedback control strategy.  相似文献

A range of tangential forces is generated within the contact patch when a wheelset moves on the rail. These forces are intensified when incorporating curved tracks and motored axle rail vehicles [Arrus, P., de Pater, A.D. and Meyers, P., 2002, The stationary motion of a one-axle vehicle along a circular curve with real rail and wheel profiles. Vehicle System Dynamics, 37(1), 29–58]. The wheelset is subject to flange contact if an unbalanced force remains in a curve towards the high rail gauge face. The resultant force in the transverse direction includes the lateral force, the radial force, and the creep forces in addition to the effect of the frequent wheelset displacement due to the kinematic oscillation [Iwnicki, S., 2003, Simulation of wheel–rail contact forces. Fatigue Fracture Engineering Material Structure, 26, 887–900]. This article has focused on a potential variation in some of the forces cited when the wheelset is subject to backward and forward movements. A severe wear rate observed within the wheel flange region in Iranian Railways was investigated by operating a test bogie on a curvaceous track. An obvious improvement in the wear rate and wear pattern of the wheels was attained when the second test bogie encountered a bogie direction reversal procedure. This enhancement is considered in this article from the force analysis standpoint.  相似文献

In this article, the properties of active and semi-active suspension for heavy goods vehicles are compared. The criteria for the comparison are the RMS sprung mass vertical acceleration, RMS dynamic tyre force, and suspension power consumption. The active system is based on an air-spring with controlled in-flow and out-flow of the air. In the semi-active system, a controlled hydraulic damper is employed. The results concerning the semi-active suspension system were taken from the article by Besinger et al. [Besinger, F.H., Cebon, D. and Cole, D.J., 1995, Force control of a semi-active damper. Vehicle System Dynamics, 24(9), 695–723.].  相似文献

SUMMARY

In this paper, an optimal suspension system is derived for a quarter-car model using multivariable integral control. The suspension system features two parts. The first part is an integral control acting on suspension deflection to ensure zero steady-sate offset due to body and maneuvering forces as well as road inputs. The second is a proportional control operating on the vehicle system states for vibration control and performance improvement. The optimal ride performance of the active suspensions based on linear full-state feedback control laws with and without integral control together with the performance of passive suspensions are compared.  相似文献

This paper provides a new method to solve the problem of suspension system state estimation using a Kalman Filter (KF) under various road conditions. Due to the fact that practical road conditions are complex and uncertain, the influence of the system process noise variance and measurement noise covariance on the estimation accuracy of the KF is first analysed. To accurately estimate the road condition, a new road classification method through the vertical acceleration of sprung mass is proposed, and different road process variances are obtained to tune the system’s variance for the application of the KF. Then, road classification and KF are combined to form an Adaptive Kalman Filter (AKF) that takes into account the relationship of different road process noise variances and measurement noise covariances under various road conditions. Simulation results show that the proposed AKF algorithm can obtain a high accuracy of state estimation for a suspension system under varying International Standards Organisation road excitation levels.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Measuring the roll angle of single-track vehicles has always been a challenging task; however, accurate and reliable measurements of this magnitude are paramount for controlling the stability of these vehicles, both for autonomous riding and for safety reasons. A roll angle estimation is also useful in other situations, such as tests to perform the identification of the parameters of the rider control. In this work, a new algorithm is presented for estimating the roll angle of bicycles. This estimator, based on the well-known Kalman filter, employs a wheel speed sensor to approximate the speed of the vehicle, and three angular rate sensors, which are currently small and affordable sensors. The proposed method was implemented in a microcontroller and tested in a bicycle and the results were compared with measurements obtained with optical sensors, showing a good correlation. Although it has not been tested in motorcycles, comparable results are expected.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Most modern day automotive chassis control systems employ a feedback control structure. Therefore, real-time estimates of the vehicle dynamic states and tire-road contact parameters are invaluable for enhancing the performance of vehicle control systems, such as anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability program (ESP). Today's production vehicles are equipped with onboard sensors (e.g. a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, steering wheel angle sensor, and wheel speed sensors), which when used in conjunction with certain model-based or kinematics-based observers can be used to identify relevant tire and vehicle states for optimal control of comfort, stability and handling. Vehicle state estimation is becoming ever more relevant with the increased sophistication of chassis control systems. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art in the field of vehicle and tire state estimation. It is expected to serve as a resource for researchers interested in developing vehicle state estimation algorithms for usage in advanced vehicle control and safety systems.  相似文献

In this paper, three numerical algorithms for the identification of wheel–rail contact forces based on measured wheel disc strains on an instrumented railway wheelset are discussed and compared. The three algorithms include one approach resting on static calibration, one that is applying a Kalman filter and the third is exploiting an inverse identification scheme. To demonstrate and evaluate the alternative methods, two load cases including periodic excitation by sinusoidal wheel–rail irregularities and transient excitation by an insulated rail joint are considered. Based on a previously presented vehicle–track interaction model in the time domain, load scenarios are defined by taking the calculated vertical wheel–rail contact forces as the reference force to be re-identified by the proposed algorithms. The reference contact forces are applied on a finite element model of the wheel to generate synthetic observation data, that is, radial strains at the positions of the strain gauges, serving as input to the identification procedures. It is concluded that the inverse identification scheme leads to superior accuracy at higher computational cost. If on-line implementation and evaluation is required, the Kalman filter generates better accuracy than the static calibration approach.  相似文献

SUMMARY

A study on effective use of rear braking force to improve a brake performance and vehicle dynamics are carried out. On a ordinary condition, the rear braking force could be more increased to a conventional braking force distribution. Based on this thought, the brake performances are estimated. The results show the effects not only improve the brake performance but also reduce a pitching at braking and moderate a vehicle OS behavior in a turn during braking. These are verified by experimental test vehicle equipped with a rear braking force control system.  相似文献
