The jack-up unit is one of the best drilling platforms in offshore oil fields with water depth shallower than 150 meters.As the most pivotal component of the jack-up unit,the leg system can directly affect the global performance of a jack-up unit.Investigation shows that there are three kinds of leg structure forms in the world now:the reverse K,X,and mixing types.In order to clarify the advantage and defects of each one,as well as their effect on the global performance of the jack-up unit,this paper commenced to study performance targets of a deepwater jack-up unit with different leg systems(X type,reverse K type,and mixing type).In this paper a typical leg scantling dimension and identical external loads were selected,detailed finite element snalysis(FEA) models were built to simulate the jack-up unit’s structural behavior,and the multi-point constraint(MPC) element together with the spring element was used to deal with the boundary condition.Finally,the above problems were solved by comparative analysis of their main performance targets(including ultimate static strength,dynamic response,and weight).  相似文献

About the Workshop...
The International Workshop on Water Waves and Floating Bodies is an annual meeting of mathematicians and engineers with a particular interest in water waves and their effects on floating and submerged marine structures. The IWWWFB was initiated by Professor D.V. Evans (University of Bristol) and Professor J.N. Newman (MIT) following informal meetings between their research groups in 1984. First intended to promote communications between workers in the UK and the USA, the interest and participation quickly spread to include researchers from many other countries around the world. The workshop places particular emphasis on the participation of younger researchers, on the stimulation of discussions between engineers and scientists, and to the presentation of preliminary basic scientific work before its publication elsewhere. The workshop is an important reference point for organizing and spreading knowledge in this area. In particular, the workshop proceedings are freely accessible through the dedicated internet address www.iwwwfb.org where all contributions from 1986 on can be found.  相似文献

Underwater gliders are recent innovative types of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) used in ocean exploration and observation. They adjust their buoyancy to dive and to return to the ocean surface. During the change of altitude, they use the hydrodynamic forces developed by their wings to move forward. Their flights are controlled by changing the position of their centers of gravity and their buoyancy to adjust their trim and heel angles. For better flight control, the understanding of the hydrodynamic behavior and the flight mechanics of the underwater glider is necessary. A 6-DOF motion simulator is coupled with an unsteady potential flow model for this purpose. In some specific cases, the numerical study demonstrates that an inappropriate stabilizer dimension can cause counter-steering behavior. The simulator can be used to improve the automatic flight control. It can also be used for the hydrodynamic design optimization of the devices.  相似文献

Personal history I began my career with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) upon graduation from Kyoto University in 1967. During my 38year career at the company, I have been involved in a broad range of maritime activities, and have witnessed dramatic changes in the industry as it has sought to meet the changing needs of societies and the globalization of economies. Key events in my career include a posting to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines' San Francisco Representative Office from 1975 to 1979;becoming a staff officer of the Planning Division in 1987, followed by a promotion to Deputy General Manager of the Division in 1988; appointment as General Manager of Europe and Oceania Division in 1993; being elected to a directorship in 1996; promotion to Managing Director in 1998, Senior Managing Director in 2000, Deputy President in 2003, and finally President in 2004. For me, the shipping industry is both a business and a passion. I am extremely excited about the changes and challenges that lie ahead for the industry as we begin the 21^st Century, and consider myself to be in a most enviable position leading Mitsui O.S.K. [Objectives]This papers aims to analyze the impact resistance of honeycomb structure with different Poisson's ratio. [Methods]Based on the explicit dynamic finite element method, this paper analyzes the dynamic mechanical properties of honeycomb structures with different Poisson's ratios under in-plane impact load, and explores the influence laws of Poisson's ratios on their impact resistance. Three typical honeycomb structures with negative/zero/positive Poisson's ratios (reentrant hexagon, hexagon and semi-reentrant hexagon) are selected, their geometric parameters are changed to give them the same relative density and different Poisson's ratios (−2.76 – +3.63), and their dynamic mechanical properties under low/medium/high-speed dynamic displacement loads are analyzed. [Results ] The results show that the zero Poisson's ratio semi-reentrant honeycomb structure has the best structural stability without transverse deformation under compression deformation; without structural instability, the platform stress has little correlation with the Poisson's ratio; and the compact strain and total energy absorbtion increases with the absolute value of the Poisson's ratio. Negative Poisson's ratio honeycomb structures with large t/l and small θ are suitable for applications with high platform stress (strong deformation resistance), and negative Poisson's ratio honeycomb structures with small t/l and small θ are suitable for high total energy absorbtion applications, while zero Poisson's ratio semi-reentrant honeycomb structures are suitable for applications with high platform stress (strong deformation resistance). Currently, the US and Europe are the centers for the design of semi-submersible rigs.The American company FRIEDE & GOLDMAN was founded in the 1950s. At present, over 100 mobile offshore drilling units and production platforms in the world are designed by this company, which mainly has two types of deepwater semi-submersible rig, F&GExD and MillenniumSA. F&GExD is the semi-submersible rig of the sixth generation and its operational depth can reach up to 3050m. This paper studies the current available options forfloating production platforms in developing deepwater oil fieldsand the potential development models of future oil and gasexploration in the South China Sea. A detailed review of currentdeepwater platforms worldwide was performed through theexamples of industry projects, and the pros and cons of eachplatform are discussed. Four types of platforms are currently usedfor the deepwater development: tension leg platform, Spar,semi-submersible platform, and the floating production systemoffloading. Among these, the TLP and Spar can be used for dry treeapplications, and have gained popularity in recent years. The drytree application enables the extension of the drilling application forfixed platforms into floating systems, and greatly reduces the costand complexity of the subsea operation. Newly built wet treesemi-submersible production platforms for ultra deepwater are alsogetting their application, mainly due to the much needed payloadfor deepwater making the conversion of the old drillingsemi-submersible platforms impossible. These platforms have beenused in different fields around the world for different environments;each has its own advantages and disadvantages. There are manychallenges with the successful use of these floating platforms. A lotof lessons have been learned and extensive experience accumulatedthrough the many project applications. Key technologies are beingreviewed for the successful use of floating platforms for fielddevelopment, and potential future development needs are beingdiscussed. Some of the technologies and experience of platformapplications can be well used for the development of the SouthChina Sea oil and gas field.  相似文献

Study on the dynamic response, and especially the nonlinear dynamic response of stiffened plates is complicated by their discontinuity and inhomogeneity. The finite element method (FEM) and the finite strip method are usually adopted in their analysis. Although many useful conclusions have been obtained, the computational cost is enormous. Based on some assumptions, the dynamic plastic response of clamped stiffened plates with large deflections was theoretically investigated herein by a singly symmetric beam model. Firstly, the deflection conditions that a plastic string must satisfy were obtained by the linearized moment-axial force interaction curve for singly symmetric cross sections and the associated plastic flow rule. Secondly, the possible motion mechanisms of the beam under different load intensity were analysed in detail. For structures with plastic deformations, a simplified method was then given that the arbitrary impact load can be replaced equivalently by a rectangular pulse. Finally, to confirm the validity of the proposed method, the dynamic plastic response of a one-way stiffened plate with four fully clamped edges was calculated. The theoretical results were in good agreement with those of FEM. It indicates that the present calculation model is easy and feasible, and the equivalent substitution of load almost has no influence on the final deflection.  相似文献
