City Logistics Centers (CLC) are an important part of the modern urban logistics system, and the selection of the location of a CLC has become a key problem in logistics and supply chain management. Integrating the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of sustainable development, this paper presents a new evaluation system for the location selection of a CLC from a sustainability perspective. A fuzzy multi-attribute group decision making (FMAGDM) technique based on a linguistic 2-tuple is used to evaluate potential alternative CLC locations. In this method, the linguistic evaluation values of all the evaluation criteria are transformed into linguistic 2-tuples. A new 2-tuple hybrid ordered weighted averaging (THOWA) operator is presented to aggregate the overall evaluation values of all experts into a collective evaluation value for each alternative, which is then used to rank and select alternative CLC locations. An application example is provided to validate the method developed and to highlight the implementation, practicality, and effectiveness by comparing with the fuzzy Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method.  相似文献

The methodology presented here seeks to optimize bus routes feeding a major intermodal transit transfer station while considering intersection delays and realistic street networks. A model is developed for finding the optimal bus route location and its operating headway in a heterogeneous service area. The criterion for optimality is the minimum total cost, including supplier and user costs. Irregular and discrete demand distributions, which realistically represent geographic variations in demand, are considered in the proposed model. The optimal headway is derived analytically for an irregularly shaped service area without demand elasticity, with non‐uniformly distributed demand density, and with a many‐to‐one travel pattern. Computer programs are designed to analyze numerical examples, which show that the combinatory type routing problem can be globally optimized. The improved computational efficiency of the near‐optimal algorithm is demonstrated through numerical comparisons to an optimal solution obtained by the exhaustive search (ES) algorithm. The CPU time spent by each algorithm is also compared to demonstrate that the near‐optimal algorithm converges to an acceptable solution significantly faster than the ES algorithm.  相似文献

Mathematical models are developed for optimizing radial bus networks with time dependent demand and supply characteristics. These models can deal with many-to-many demand distribution in heterogeneous rather than idealized geographic environments. With some approximations, closed-form solutions for the optimal route angle, headways for different time periods, and stop spacings for various locations are obtained for a total cost minimization objective. The relations between the decision variables and system parameters are identified analytically. The optimality of a constant ratio between headways and route angle is found to hold with a time related factor. The optimized wait cost, operator cost, and lateral access cost are found to be equal. A numerical example is given for a case with three service periods. It illustrates the applicability of the analytic model to irregular demand patterns that may be directionally imbalanced during some periods.  相似文献

The hub location problem deals with finding the location of hub facilities and allocating the demand nodes to these hub facilities so as to effectively route the demand between any origin–destination pair. In the extensive literature on this challenging network design problem, it has widely been assumed that the subgraph induced by the hub nodes is complete. Relaxation of this basic assumption constitutes the starting point of the present work. In this study, we provide a uniform modeling treatment to all the single allocation variants of the existing hub location problems, under the incomplete hub network design. No network structure other than connectivity is imposed on the induced hub network. Within this context, the single allocation incomplete p-hub median, the incomplete hub location with fixed costs, the incomplete hub covering, and the incomplete p-hub center network design problems are defined, and efficient mathematical formulations for these problems with O(n3) variables are introduced. Computational analyses with these formulations are presented on the various instances of the CAB data set and on the Turkish network.  相似文献

This paper proposes a bi-level programming model to solve the design problem for bus lane distribution in multi-modal transport networks. The upper level model aims at minimizing the average travel time of travelers, as well as minimizing the difference of passengers’ comfort among all the bus lines by optimizing bus frequencies. The lower level model is a multi-modal transport network equilibrium model for the joint modal split/traffic assignment problem. The column generation algorithm, the branch-and-bound algorithm and the method of successive averages are comprehensively applied in this paper for the solution of the bi-level model. A simple numerical test and an empirical test based on Dalian economic zone are employed to validate the proposed model. The results show that the bi-level model performs well with regard to the objective of reducing travel time costs for all travelers and balancing transit service level among all bus lines.  相似文献

Many real-world networks are embedded in spaces. Recent studies have found that spatial characteristics are closely related to network features. Bus transport networks (BTNs) are typical spatially embedded networks, but their spatial characteristics are commonly disregarded in previous researches. In this paper, we propose a new spatial representation model for BTNs with information on the geographical location of bus stations and routes, for which we named as the ES model. The new model aids in the study of real-world BTNs. By performing a statistical study with the new representation model on three typical BTNs in China, namely the Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou BTNs, we identify some network features that are consistent with those revealed by previous studies, as well as some new features such as high clustering of short-distance station pairs (SSPs) and small average number of bus routes in a path. The result shows that the existence of SSPs can significantly influence the characteristics of BTNs. Besides, with the help of the ES model, we designed a new transfer algorithm for BTNs.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with methods of testing the accuracy of traffic assignments. It focuses on the fact that whereas assignment models are usually based on a behavioural hypothesis about drivers' route choice (e.g. cost or time minimisation) the test of the accuracy of the assignment is the extent to which observed link loadings are reproduced. This inconsistency opens up the doubt that an apparently “accurate” assignment on this basis may be a result of compensating errors. It is difficult to apply the same test to accuracy of route choices as is applied to accuracy of link loadings (e.g. chi square, correlation coefficient) and hence a new measure is devised here which can be applied both to comparisons between observed and predicted route choices and comparisons between observed and predicted loadings. It is, moreover, possible to devise a test of significance for this measure so that one can test whether a predicted assignment is significantly different from what one, might have observed on the basis of chance observation. A case study is carried out to test the proposed method. Traffic flows between 72 origins and destinations on either side of the Pennine Mountains in Britain are assigned to a network using different assignment techniques with varied parameters. In all, one hundred and ninety assignments are carried out and the degree of correspondence between observed and predicted route choices and link loadings is measured. The results tend to confirm that the link loadings criterion is not a very stable criterion and that the route choice correspondence criteria seems to behave in a sensible way. A simulation exercise is carried out which produces the probability distribution of the “route-fit” index for different assumed sample levels. The paper concludes by suggesting avenues for further research.  相似文献

A mathematical model is developed to optimize social and fiscal sustainable operation of a feeder bus system considering realistic network and heterogeneous demand. The objective total profit is a nonlinear, mixed integer function, which is maximized by optimizing the number of stops, headway, and fare. The stops are located which maximize the ridership. The demand elasticity for the bus service is dependent on passengers' access distance, wait time, in‐vehicle time, and fare. An optimization algorithm is developed to search for the optimal solution that maximizes the profit. The modeling approach is applied to planning a bus transit system within Woodbridge, New Jersey. The continuously variable hydromechanical transmission is an interesting solution for high power vehicles subject to frequent changes of speed, in which the comfort is a significant requirement.Despite their low average efficiency with respect to the mechanical transmissions, the hydromechanical transmissions allow to release the engine speed by the vehicle speed, and to open the possibility for the optimal control of the engine. It follows that the performance and emissions of the powertrain is heavily affected by the logic control.The aim of the paper is to investigate the emission reductions that can be obtained using a Power-Split transmission.Therefore, a hydromechanical transmission has been sized and tested on a 12-ton-city bus by using a one-dimensional model developed in an AMESim environment. Four different control strategies of the powertrain were applied to the model. The CUEDC-ME standard cycle for the characterization of emissions in heavy vehicles was used as a reference mission.The simulation results showed that the hydromechanical transmission reduces consumption or the emission levels with respect to the traditional transmission when managed according to appropriate control strategies. By means of emission values normalized with respect to the standard limits, it is possible to identify a control strategy that allows the reduction of emissions in every usage condition of the vehicle at the expense of a slight increase of consumption.The suggested procedure could help the manufacturer to satisfy the emission standard requirements.  相似文献

In this study, we allow using alternative transportation modes and different types of vehicles in the hub networks to be designed. The aim of the problem is to determine the locations and capacities of hubs, which transportation modes to serve at hubs, allocation of non-hub nodes to hubs, and the number of vehicles of each type to operate on the hub network to route the demand between origin-destination pairs with minimum total cost. Total cost includes fixed costs of establishing hubs with different capacities, purchasing and operational costs of vehicles, transportation costs, and material handling costs. A mixed-integer programming model is developed and a variable neighborhood search algorithm is proposed for the solution of this problem. The heuristic algorithm is tested on instances from the Turkish network and CAB data set. Extensive computational analyzes are conducted in order to observe the effects of changes in various problem parameters on the resulting hub networks.  相似文献

This paper, based on the viewpoints of both the passengers and the operator, uses a multi-objective utility function to formulate an effective bus transportation system. The utility function is composed of six factors of passenger concern including riding time, waiting time, degree of crowdedness, transferring frequencies, standing probability and walking time; and also the two major factors of concern to the bus operator: cost and profit. By using a multi-objective programming technique, a series of noninferior solutions are generated. Also, an application to the Taipei city bus system is presented.  相似文献

This paper reviews some of the arguments which have been put forward on the economics of bus deregulation, particularly the paper by Gwilliam and others. It argues that the experience of road haulage licensing is relevant. The evidence there suggests that liberalization has not had the adverse effects that many predicted and that in most respects one could expect bus deregulation to have no less favourable consequences. The main difference between buses and road haulage is over how far bus drivers might revert to the old practices of the 1920s of chasing, tailing, etc. which were said at the time to be a major cause of consumer dissatisfaction. The paper reviews the economics of some of these practices and suggests which might be discounted and which need further attention.  相似文献

A schedule consisting of an appropriate arrival time at each time control point can ensure reliable transport services. This paper develops a novel time control point strategy coupled with transfer coordination for solving a multi‐objective schedule design problem to improve schedule adherence and reduce intermodal transfer disutility. The problem is formulated using a robust mixed‐integer nonlinear programming model. The mixed‐integer nonlinear programming model is equivalently transformed into a robust mixed‐integer linear programming model, which is then approximated by a deterministic mixed‐integer linear programming model through Monte Carlo simulation. Thus, the optimal scheduled arrival time at each time control point can be precisely obtained using cplex . Numerical experiments based on three bus lines and the mass rapid transit system in Singapore are presented, and the results show that the schedule determined using the developed model is able to provide not only reliable bus service but also a smooth transfer experience for passengers. There are factors that impact car usage in urban areas, such as density, diversity and design, but there have been few studies that examine the relationship between street network factors and car usage at the city level (macro level). This paper focuses on this relationship by introducing urban street network variables, such as blocks per area, nodes per block and length of roads and motorways, as independent variables and the percentage of daily trips by private motorized modes as the dependent variable. The street network in this study includes interconnecting lines and points that present streets, roads, motorways, intersections and blocks. The strength of the relationship in this study is found using multiple linear regression. The findings of this research indicate that an increase in car usage is correlated with an increasing number of blocks per area, number of nodes per block and length of motorways. In addition, because the urban street network is the result of macro-scale planning decisions, considering this relationship can lead to better planning decisions.  相似文献

Vehicle speed is an important attribute for analysing the utility of a transport mode. The speed relationship between multiple modes of transport is of interest to traffic planners and operators. This paper quantifies the relationship between bus speed and average car speed by integrating Bluetooth data and transit signal priority data from the urban network in Brisbane, Australia. The method proposed in this paper is the first of its kind to relate bus speed and average car speed by integrating multi-source traffic data in a corridor-based method. Three transferable regression models relating not-in-service bus, in-service bus during peak periods and in-service bus during off-peak periods with average car speed are proposed. The models are cross-validated and the interrelationships are significant.  相似文献

The spacing and headway configuration of a bus system comprising a series of ring and radial routes which minimizes travel time is found by the use of the calculus of variations. A many-to-many travel demand is described by a continuous function of the positions of a commuter's home and workplace. It is assumed that buses travel at a constant speed and are subject to a fleet size constraint. Under optimal conditions it is found that both spacing between routes and headway between buses should be inversely proportional to the cube root of the proportion of commuters joining and leaving the route. A simple numerical example is worked in which homes and workplaces are independently and uniformly distributed.  相似文献

The main purpose of this study is to design a transit network of routes for handling actual-size road networks. This transit-network design problem is known to be complex and cumbersome. Thus, a heuristic methodology is proposed, taking into account the major concerns of transit authorities such as budget constraints, level-of-service standards and the attractiveness of the transit routes. In addition, this approach considers other important aspects of the problem including categorization of stops, multiclass of transit vehicles, hierarchy planning, system capacity (which has been largely ignored in past studies) and the integration between route-design and frequency-setting analyses. The process developed starts with the construction of a set of potential stops using a clustering concept. Then, by the use of Newton gravity theory and a special shortest-path procedure, a set of candidate routes is formed, categorized by hierarchy (mass, feeder, local routes). In the last step of the process a metaheuristic search engine is launched over the candidate routes, incorporating budgetary constraints, until a good solution is found. The algorithm was tested on the actual-size transit network of the city of Winnipeg; the results show that under the same conditions (budget and constraints) the proposed set of routes resulted in a reduction of 14% of total travel time compared to the existing transit network. In addition the methodology developed is compared favorably with other studies using the transit network of Mandl benchmark. The generality of the methodology was tested on the recent real dataset (pertaining to the year 2010) of the larger city of Chicago, in which a more efficient and optimized scheme was proposed for the existing rail system.  相似文献
