At the end of August 2007, the national shipbuilding industry work meeting was held in Qingdao, Shandong province. The meeting is the first of its kind since the adoption of China's reform and open-door policy. In April of 1979, the COSCO vessel Liulinhai, the first Chinese ship with P.R.C. flag arrived in Seattle, marking a new chapter in the shipping and trade relations between China and U.S.A. In order to more accurately examine developing trends in gross cargo throughput, we have modeled the probability distribution of cargo throughput. Gross cargo throughput is determined by the time spent by cargo ships in the port and the operating efficiency of handling equipment. Gross cargo throughput is the sum of all compound variables determining each aspect of cargo throughput for every cargo ship arriving at the port. Probability distribution was determined using the Wald equation. The results show that the variability of gross cargo throughput primarily depends on the different times required by different cargo ships arriving at the port. This model overcomes the shortcoming of previous models: inability to accurately determine the probability of a specific value of future gross cargo throughput. Our proposed model of cargo throughput depends on the relationship between time required by a cargo ship arriving at the port and the operational capacity of handling equipment at the port. At the same time, key factors affecting gross cargo throughput are analyzed. In order to test the efficiency of the model, the cargo volume of a port in Shandong Province was used as an example. In the case study the actual results matched our theoretical analysis.  相似文献

The fuel sulfur content in marine fuels has been regulated in Sulfur Emission Control Areas(SECAs) since January 2015. However, other fuel characteristics are also believed to have an impact on particle emissions, particularly on the number of particles emitted. This study investigates the impact of the content of aromatics in fuel. To achieve fuel blends with concentrations of aromatics similar to those found in marine fuel oils, i.e. 20%–30% by volume(%vol.), normal diesel oil(4%–5% vol. aromatics) is doped with a mixture of aromatics. Emission measurements are conducted in test-bed engine facilities and particle emissions over a wide size range are analyzed. Results show a decreased number of particles emitted(or not change) with an increase in the aromatic concentration in fuel. This is because there is a reduction in the cetane number of the fuel with an increased aromatic content, which effects the combustion process and results in decreased particle formation. However, when ignition improver is used to increase the cetane number, particle emissions remain at a lower level than for normal diesel oil; thereby emphasizing the presence of other factors in the formation of particles.  相似文献

Transportation of tension leg platform(TLP) structures for a long distance has always been associated with the use of a heavy semi-transport vessel.The requirements of this type of vessel are always special,and their availability is limited.To prepare for the future development of South China Sea deepwater projects,the China Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation has recently built a heavy lift transport vessel-Hai Yang Shi You 278.This semi-submersible vessel has a displacement capacity of 50k DWT,and a breath of 42 meters.Understanding the vessel’s applicability and preparing it for use in future deepwater projects are becoming imminent needs.This paper reviews the current critical issues associated with TLP transportation and performs detailed analysis of the designed TLP during load-out and transportation.The newly built COOEC transportation vessel HYSY 278 was applied to dry transport of the TLP structure from the COOEC fabrication yard in Qingdao to an oil field in South China Sea.The entire process included the load-out of the TLP structure from the landsite of the fabrication yard,the offloading and float-on of the platform from the vessel,the dry transport of the TLP over a long distance,and the final offloading of the platform.Both hydrodynamic and structure analysis were performed to evaluate the behavior of the transport vessel and TLP structure.Special attention was paid to critical areas associated with the use of this new vessel,along with any potential limitations.The results demonstrate that HYSY 278 can effectively be used for transporting the structure with proper arrangement and well-prepared operation.The procedure and details were presented on the basis of the study results.Special attention was also given to discussion on future use based on the results from the analysis.  相似文献

Given the recent success in the development of several submersibles in China, people's interest in the history of submersible development is increasing. This paper presents the history of submersible development in China, which can be briefly divided into three periods. The first one is the early period of hardship(1971–2000). Many prototype submersibles of HOVs, ROVs, and AUVs were developed at this time, but the main achievement was the establishment of special research organizations and the training of research and development personnel. The second period can be regarded as the quick development period(2001–2015). All currently used submersibles were developed during this period. The most remarkable achievement was the successful development of 7000 m-deep manned submersible "Jiaolong." The third period aims to develop 11 000 m submersibles for challenging the full ocean depth(2016–2020). In this period, two unmanned submersibles and two manned submersibles will be the significant indicators of achievement. If this 5-year plan can be successfully completed, China can play a significant role in the investigation of the deepest part of the oceans, namely, the hadal trenches(6500–11 000 m).  相似文献

In recent years,China‘s shipbuilding industry has witnessed rapid growth.It‘s reported that china has set the goal to grab 16% of the world market share with the annual output of shipbuilding reaching 10 million deadweight tonnage by 2005, and 24 million deadweight tonnage representing 35% of the world market share by 2015. In addition, over 80% of the marine equipment to be installed on board will be made in China by 2010, compared with the current ratio of 30%. The localized differential quadrature (LDQ) method is a numerical technique with high accuracy for solving most kinds of nonlinear problems in engineering and can overcome the difficulties of other methods (such as difference method) to numerically evaluate the derivatives of the functions.Its high efficiency and accuracy attract many engineers to apply the method to solve most of the numerical problems in engineering.However,difficulties can still be found in some particular problems.In the following study,the LDQ was applied to solve the Sod shock tube problem.This problem is a very particular kind of problem,which challenges many common numerical methods.Three different examples were given for testing the robustness and accuracy of the LDQ.In the first example,in which common initial conditions and solving methods were given,the numerical oscillations could be found dramatically;in the second example,the initial conditions were adjusted appropriately and the numerical oscillations were less dramatic than that in the first example;in the third example,the momentum equation of the Sod shock tube problem was corrected by adding artificial viscosity,causing the numerical oscillations to nearly disappear in the process of calculation.The numerical results presented demonstrate the detailed difficulties encountered in the calculations,which need to be improved in future work.However,in summary,the localized differential quadrature is shown to be a trustworthy method for solving most of the nonlinear problems in engineering.  相似文献

Personal history I began my career with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) upon graduation from Kyoto University in 1967. During my 38-year career at the company, I have been involved in a broadrange of maritime activities, and have witnessed dramaticchanges in the industry as it has sought to meet the changingneeds of societies and the globalization of economies. Keyevents in my career include a posting to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines'San Francisco Representative Office from 1975 to 1979;becoming a staff officer of the Planning Division in 1987,followed by a promotion to Deputy General Manager of theDivision in 1988; appointment as General Manager of Europeand Oceania Division in 1993; being elected to a directorshipin 1996; promotion to Managing Director in 1998, SeniorManaging Director in 2000, Deputy President in 2003, andfinally President in 2004. For me, the shipping industry isboth a business and a passion. I am extremely excited aboutthe changes and challenges that lie ahead for the industry aswe begin the 21st Century, and consider myself to be in amost enviable position leading Mitsui O.S.K.
