Recent progress in calculating gas bubble sizes in a plume, based on phenomenological approaches using the release conditions is a significant improvement to make the gas plume models self-reliant. Such calculations require details of conditions Near the Source of Plume (NSP); (i.e. the plume/jet velocity and radius near the source), which inspired the present work. Determining NSP conditions for gas plumes are far more complex than that for oil plumes due to the substantial density difference between gas and water. To calculate NSP conditions, modeling the early stage of the plume is important. A novel method of modeling the early stage of an underwater gas release is presented here. Major impact of the present work is to define the correct NSP conditions for underwater gas releases, which is not possible with available methods as those techniques are not based on the physics of flow region near the source of the plume/jet. We introduce super Gaussian profiles to model the density and velocity variations of the early stages of plume, coupled with the laws of fluid mechanics to define profile parameters. This new approach, models the velocity profile variation from near uniform, across the section at the release point to Gaussian some distance away. The comparisons show that experimental data agrees well with the computations.  相似文献

Air–sea flux measurements of O2 and N2 obtained during Hurricane Frances in September 2004 [D'Asaro, E. A. and McNeil, C. L., 2006. Measurements of air–sea gas exchange at extreme wind speeds. Journal Marine Systems, this edition.] using air-deployed neutrally buoyant floats reveal the first evidence of a new regime of air–sea gas transfer occurring at wind speeds in excess of 35 m s− 1. In this regime, plumes of bubbles 1 mm and smaller in size are transported down from near the surface of the ocean to greater depths by vertical turbulent currents with speeds up to 20−30 cm s− 1. These bubble plumes mostly dissolve before reaching a depth of approximately 20 m as a result of hydrostatic compression. Injection of air into the ocean by this mechanism results in the invasion of gases in proportion to their tropospheric molar gas ratios, and further supersaturation of less soluble gases. A new formulation for air–sea fluxes of weakly soluble gases as a function of wind speed is proposed to extend existing formulations [Woolf, D.K, 1997. Bubbles and their role in gas exchange. In: Liss, P.S., and Duce, R.A., (Eds.), The Sea Surface and Global Change. Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, UK, pp. 173–205.] to span the entire natural range of wind speeds over the open ocean, which includes hurricanes. The new formulation has separate contributions to air–sea gas flux from: 1) non-supersaturating near-surface equilibration processes, which include direct transfer associated with the air–sea interface and ventilation associated with surface wave breaking; 2) partial dissolution of bubbles smaller than 1 mm that mix into the ocean via turbulence; and 3) complete dissolution of bubbles of up to 1 mm in size via subduction of bubble plumes. The model can be simplified by combining “surface equilibration” terms that allow exchange of gases into and out of the ocean, and “gas injection” terms that only allow gas to enter the ocean. The model was tested against the Hurricane Frances data set. Although all the model parameters cannot be determined uniquely, some features are clear. The fluxes due to the surface equilibration terms, estimated both from data and from model inversions, increase rapidly at high wind speed but are still far below those predicted using the cubic parameterization of Wanninkhof and McGillis [Wannikhof, R. and McGillis, W.R., 1999. The fluxes due to gas injection terms increase with wind speed even more rapidly, causing bubble injection to dominate at the highest wind speeds.  相似文献

应用流体动力学理论,通过数值模拟得到了浮式钻井生产储卸油装置(FDPSO)泄露速度、泄露位置、环境风速等因素对气体扩散分布的影响。结果表明,定风速下,气体扩散速度水平方向较垂直方向大,平面内横向较纵向大;不同泄露位置下,气体的扩散分布则主要取决于FDPSO的设备布置情况;不同泄露速度或风速下,气体浓度有着先升高后稳定的变化趋势。同时依据模拟分析结果进行了FDPSO油气处理模块安全逃生路线设计。  相似文献

The Columbia River plume is typical of large-scale, high discharge, mid-latitude plumes. In the absence of strong upwelling winds, freshwater from the river executes a rightward turn and forms an anticyclonic bulge before moving north along the Washington coast. In addition to the above dynamics, however, the river plume outflow is subject to large tides, which modify the structure of the plume in the region near the river mouth. Observations based on data acquired during a summer 2005 cruise indicate that the plume consists of four distinct water masses; source water at the lift-off point, and the tidal, re-circulating and far-field plumes. In contrast to most plume models that describe the discharge of low-salinity estuary water into ambient high-salinity coastal water, we describe the Columbia plume as the superposition of these four plume types.We focus primarily on a conceptual summary of the dynamics and mutual interaction of the tidal and re-circulating plumes. The new tidal plume flows over top of the re-circulating plume and is typically bounded by strong fronts. Soon after the end of ebb tide, it covers roughly 50–100% of the re-circulating plume surface area. The fronts may penetrate well below the re-circulating plume water and eventually spawn internal waves that mix the re-circulating plume further. The re-circulating plume persists throughout the tidal cycle and corresponds to a freshwater volume equivalent to 3–4 days of river discharge. Finally, the plume water masses are distinguished from one another in term of surface chlorophyll concentration, suggesting that the above classification may also describe different biological growth regimes. The low-salinity re-circulating plume serves as an extension of the estuary into the coastal ocean, or an “estuary at sea”, because residence times during periods of high river flow are greater than those in the estuary.  相似文献

基于任意欧拉拉格朗日(ALE)方法,忽略流体的粘性,建立水射流冲击刚性平板的数值模型。为了更为精确地捕捉流场中压力波,该文推导了在ALE框架下的间断有限元方法。该方法易于提高数值离散的空间精度,数值稳定性较
  好,利于精确模拟高速水射流冲击过程。对于自由液面的变形,采用径向基函数方法确定网格单元的速度。该方法采用边界网格节点的信息去推导出内部网格节点的信息,不需要单元信息。平头水柱射流冲击的数值结果与Autodyn的数值结果吻合较好。在验证方法合理性的基础上,文中对平头及圆头水柱中压力波的分布特性进行了分析。数值结果表明:当冲击在平板表面时,会在产生一个压力波之后向水域内传播,且使得平板受到较大压力的作用。此外,圆头水柱的射流冲击将会产生一个更大的压力峰值。  相似文献

Seasonal variations in nutrient inputs are described for the main rivers (Loire and Vilaine) flowing into the northern Bay of Biscay. The river plumes are high in N/P ratio in late winter and spring, but not in the inner plume during the summer. Conservative behavior results in most nutrients entering the estuary and eventually reaching the coastal zone. Temporal and spatial aspects of phytoplankton growth and nutrient uptake in the northern Bay of Biscay distinguish the central area of salinity 34 from the plume area. The first diatom bloom appears offshore in late winter, at the edge of the river plumes, taking advantage of haline stratification and anticyclonic “weather windows.” In spring, when the central area of the northern shelf is phosphorus-limited, small cells predominate in the phytoplankton community and compete with bacteria for both mineral and organic phosphorus. At that period, river plumes are less extensive than in winter, but local nutrient enrichment at the river mouth allows diatom growth. In summer, phytoplankton become nitrogen-limited in the river plumes; the central area of the shelf is occupied by small forms of phytoplankton, which are located on the thermocline and use predominantly regenerated nutrients.  相似文献

This paper studies the current available options forfloating production platforms in developing deepwater oil fieldsand the potential development models of future oil and gasexploration in the South China Sea. A detailed review of currentdeepwater platforms worldwide was performed through theexamples of industry projects, and the pros and cons of eachplatform are discussed. Four types of platforms are currently usedfor the deepwater development: tension leg platform, Spar,semi-submersible platform, and the floating production systemoffloading. Among these, the TLP and Spar can be used for dry treeapplications, and have gained popularity in recent years. The drytree application enables the extension of the drilling application forfixed platforms into floating systems, and greatly reduces the costand complexity of the subsea operation. Newly built wet treesemi-submersible production platforms for ultra deepwater are alsogetting their application, mainly due to the much needed payloadfor deepwater making the conversion of the old drillingsemi-submersible platforms impossible. These platforms have beenused in different fields around the world for different environments;each has its own advantages and disadvantages. There are manychallenges with the successful use of these floating platforms. A lotof lessons have been learned and extensive experience accumulatedthrough the many project applications. Key technologies are beingreviewed for the successful use of floating platforms for fielddevelopment, and potential future development needs are beingdiscussed. Some of the technologies and experience of platformapplications can be well used for the development of the SouthChina Sea oil and gas field.  相似文献

吸力式基础是深海油气田开发中重要的基础型式之一,目前其安装技术基本由国外垄断。该文以我国南海某气田开发为依托,针对深水吸力式基础安装的关键设备——泵撬块进行了研究。通过采用水下液压泵站、压力补偿器、干式电子舱等技术,保证了处于深水中设备的耐压性和密封性;且可以通过远程控制来实现泵撬块与吸力式基础的锁紧、解脱,泵撬块的排水、注水换向,以及在水上对吸力式基础和泵撬块的实时监测和操作;对深水吸力式基础在我国的发展应用有一定的推动作用。  相似文献

The South China Sea contains tremendous oil and gas resources in deepwater areas. However, one of the keys for deepwater exploration, the investigation of deepwater floating platforms, is very inadequate. In this paper, the authors studied and compared the hydrodynamics and global motion behaviors of typical deepwater platforms in the South China Sea environment. The hydrodynamic models of three main types of floating platforms, e.g. the Semi-submersible, tension leg platform (TLP), and Truss Spar, which could potentially be utilized in the South China Sea, were established by using the 3-D potential theory. Additionally, some important considerations which significantly influence the hydrodynamics were given. The RAOs in frequency domains as well as global motions in time domains under time-varying wind, random waves, and current in 100-y, 10-y, and 1-y return period environment conditions were predicted, compared, and analyzed. The results indicate that the heave and especially the pitch motion of the TLP are favorable. The heave response of the Truss Spar is perfect and comparable with that of the TLP when the peak period of random waves is low. However, the pitch motion of Truss Spar is extraordinarily larger than that of Semi-submersible and TLP.  相似文献

基于水射流技术环保、取材方便和切割能力强的特点,提出一种应用水射流切割礁石的方法。通过建立二维平面数学模型,对淹没条件下高压水射流运动特性进行模拟计算。结果表明,射流初始段为冲击速度最大、动压最大且能量最为集中的区域。淹没水深0~30 m内,伴随着水深围压的增加,初始段速度衰减不足5 m/s,衰减程度仅约1. 5%。在水流流速0~5 m/s的淹没环境中,射流初始段受水流冲击作用影响较小,水平方向速度分量变化仅在8. 5 m/s内,射流未发生明显偏离,仍具备较好的冲击流态。  相似文献

Observations of breaking waves, associated bubble plumes and bubble-plume size distributions were used to explore the coupled evolution of wave-breaking, wave properties and bubble-plume characteristics. Experiments were made in a large, freshwater, wind-wave channel with mechanical wind-steepened waves and a wind speed of 13 m s− 1. Bubble plumes exhibited a wide range of bubble distributions, physical extent and dynamics. A classification scheme was developed based on plume extent and “optical density” which is the ability of a plume to optically obscure the image of the background until maximum penetration of the plume. Plumes were classified as either dense (obscure) or diffuse (no-obscure). For each class, the plume bubble population size distribution, Φ(r,t), where r is the bubble radius and t the time, was determined. Dense plumes have a large radius peak in Φ and thus are enhanced in large bubbles. Diffuse plumes are well-described by a weakly size decreasing Φ(r,t) for r < 1000 μm and a more strongly size decreasing Φ(r,t) for r > 1000 μm.The bubble-plume formation rate, P, for each class, wave-breaking rate and wave characteristics were measured with respect to fetch. Wave-breaking rate and intensity are strongly fetch-dependent. In general, the trends in P and wave breaking are similar, reaching a maximum at the fetch of maximum wave breaking. The ratio of P for dense to diffuse plumes is even more sensitive to the occurrence of the most intense wave breaking, where dense plume formation is the greatest.Using P and the bubble size population distributions for each plume class, the global bubble-plume, injection size distribution, Ψi(r), was calculated. The volume injection rate for the study area was 640 cm3 s− 1 divided approximately equally between bubbles smaller and larger than r  1700 μm.  相似文献

Satellite images of surface chlorophyll-a concentration measured by the sea-viewing wide field-of-view sensor (SeaWiFS) and of sea surface temperature derived from advanced very high resolution radiometer (AVHRR) measurements, combined with in-situ drifter measurements of surface currents, and ancillary wind, Po River discharge and surface salinity data, are used to describe the surface dynamics in the northern Adriatic during the period September–October 1997.The satellite observations revealed very complex mesoscale dynamics, with time scales of a day or two and length scales of about 10 km, including the meandering and instability of basin-scale currents (e.g., the western coastal layer), jets/filaments and eddies. In addition, the two typical patterns of the Po River plume are observed and qualitatively explained in terms of wind forcing. A basin-wide double gyre pattern spreads the rich runoff water across most of the northern Adriatic from mid-September to early October, following Bora wind events and under stratified sea conditions. In contrast, in late October the Po plume is confined to the coast due to weaker winds and de-stratified conditions. This variability in the Po River plume extension is also confirmed by in-situ salinity measurements.  相似文献

文章研究聚焦于一种新概念张力系泊式水中生产平台(STLP),该平台实现了浅水采油设备和技术在超深水环境下的生产作业。STLP位于海面下一定深度处,充分降低了海面灾害性海洋环境要素(巨浪、强流)的影响。文中详细研究了在3 000 m水深环境下STLP的力学特性。其中,该专题的第一部分重点研究刚性立管的力学特性,介绍了STLP的设计原理,给出了STLP的理论模型及数值模拟方法。进一步地,给出了STLP的设计流程与理论。在此基础上,研究并讨论了刚性立管在3 000 m水深环境下的强度、屈曲和疲劳特性。最后,给出了研究结论。特别地,文中研究所得到的结论对于自站式混合立管的工程设计和分析均具有广泛适用性。  相似文献

建立结构网格和流场网格耦合的航行体出筒过程气幕降载计算模型。通过有/无气幕工况的计算对比,发现气幕提前喷射时机对降载效果影响较大。通过对气幕提前航行体发射0.25 s、0.5 s和0.72 s工况的计算,发现航行体横向载荷随着提前喷射时间延长,呈现先降低后升高的变化规律,选择最佳喷射时机可提高降载效果。该规律可用于指导气幕降载工程设计。  相似文献
