Idle stop and go (ISG) is a low cost but very effective technology to improve fuel efficiency and reduce engine emissions by preventing unnecessary engine idling. In this study, a new method is developed to improve the performance of conventional ISG by monitoring traffic conditions. To estimate frontal traffic conditions, an ultra-sonic ranging sensor is employed. Several fuzzy logic algorithms are developed to determine whether the engine idling is on or off. The algorithms are evaluated experimentally using various data gathered in real areas with traffic congestion. The evaluation results show that the method developed can reduce the chance of false application of ISG significantly while improving fuel efficiency up to 15%. 相似文献

Modelling uncertainty, parameter variation and unknown external disturbance are the major concerns in the development of an advanced controller for vehicle stability at the limits of handling. Sliding mode control (SMC) method has proved to be robust against parameter variation and unknown external disturbance with satisfactory tracking performance. But modelling uncertainty, such as errors caused in model simplification, is inevitable in model-based controller design, resulting in lowered control quality. The adaptive radial basis function network (ARBFN) can effectively improve the control performance against large system uncertainty by learning to approximate arbitrary nonlinear functions and ensure the global asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system. In this paper, a novel vehicle dynamics stability control strategy is proposed using the adaptive radial basis function network sliding mode control (ARBFN-SMC) to learn system uncertainty and eliminate its adverse effects. This strategy adopts a hierarchical control structure which consists of reference model layer, yaw moment control layer, braking torque allocation layer and executive layer. Co-simulation using MATLAB/Simulink and AMESim is conducted on a verified 15-DOF nonlinear vehicle system model with the integrated-electro-hydraulic brake system (I-EHB) actuator in a Sine With Dwell manoeuvre. The simulation results show that ARBFN-SMC scheme exhibits superior stability and tracking performance in different running conditions compared with SMC scheme. 相似文献

针对城市中心区交叉口交通流分布的特点,综合考虑本相位和相邻相位车道上的车辆排队长度(以下简称“队长”),应用模糊控制和神经网络具有的学习功能,提出了一种孤立交叉口多相位自适应模糊控制算法,该算法采用两个规则前件进行模糊推理,并给出了基于3层神经网络实现的模糊控制器的网络结构及其改进的BP网络训练算法和运行程序,结合已有类似研究成果进行了仿真比较研究,结果表明:该控制方法在信号周期自动调节和减少车辆延误方面都有明显改进,在实现城市交叉口智能控制中具有推广应用价值。 相似文献

This paper presents preliminary control system simulation results in a urea-selective catalytic reduction (SCR) aftertreatment
system based on NH3 sensor feedback. A four-state control-oriented lumped parameter model is used to analyze the controllability and observability
properties of the urea-SCR plant. A model-based estimator is designed via simulation and a control system is developed with
design based on a sliding mode control framework. The control system based on NH3 sensor feedback is analyzed via simulation by comparing it to a control system developed based on NOx sensor feedback. Simulation results show that the NH3 sensor-based strategy performs very similarly in comparison to a NOx sensor-based strategy. The control system performance metrics for NOx index, urea index, urea usage, and NH3 slip suggest that the NOx sensor can be a potential alternative to a NOx sensor for urea-SCR control applications. 相似文献

Agent-based approach is a popular tool for modelling and developing large-scale distributed systems such as urban traffic control system with dynamic traffic flows. This study proposes a multi-agent-based approach to optimize urban traffic network signal control, which utilizes a mathematical programming method to optimize the signal timing plans at intersections. To improve the overall network efficiency, we develop an online agent-based signal coordination scheme, underpinned by the communication among different intersection control agents. In addition, the initial coordination scheme that pre-adjusts the offsets between the intersections is developed based on the historical demand information. Comparison and sensitivity analysis are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed method on a customized traffic simulation platform using MATLAB and VISSIM. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method can effectively avoid network oversaturation and thus reduces average travel delay and improves average vehicle speed, as compared to rule-based multi-agent signal control methods. 相似文献

A robust yaw stability control design based on active front steering control is proposed for in-wheel-motored electric vehicles with a Steer-by-Wire (SbW) system. The proposed control system consists of an inner-loop controller (referred to in this paper as the steering angle-disturbance observer (SA-DOB), which rejects an input steering disturbance by feeding a compensation steering angle) and an outer-loop tracking controller (i.e., a PI-type tracking controller) to achieve control performance and stability. Because the model uncertainties, which include unmodeled high frequency dynamics and parameter variations, occur in a wide range of driving situations, a robust control design method is applied to the control system to simultaneously guarantee robust stability and robust performance of the control system. The proposed control algorithm was implemented in a CaSim model, which was designed to describe actual in-wheel-motored electric vehicles. The control performances of the proposed yaw stability control system are verified through computer simulations and experimental results using an experimental electric vehicle. 相似文献

In this paper, an indirect feedback active noise control (ANC) scheme, based on the fundamental frequency-estimation method, is proposed for systems with multiple tonal noises. The engine noise consists of the harmonic components of the rotation of the crankshaft in the engine. When it is difficult to obtain reference signals, which are necessary for a feedforward ANC, conventional ANC algorithms do not work. In this paper, a new method is proposed to generate reference signals with estimated frequencies. The proposed algorithm consists of two parts: the frequency-estimation (FE) algorithm for the estimation of the fundamental frequency of the rotating machinery and then the conventional filtered-x LMS (FX-LMS) algorithm. In the second algorithm, the reference signal is generated using the fundamental frequency as estimated in the first algorithm. The FE algorithm uses a second-order adaptive notch filter, which is insensitive to impulse noise. In addition, the FE algorithm has good tracking capability and a lower variance of frequency-estimation error for a constant sinusoid signal and chirp signal. The performance of the proposed ANC method is verified through simulations and an experiment using a DSP board (DS-1104) inside a short duct. 相似文献

Linear matrix inequality (LMI) methods, novel techniques in solving optimisation problems, were introduced as a unified approach for vehicle's active suspension system controller design. LMI methods were used to provide improved and computationally efficient controller design techniques. The active suspension problem was formulated as a standard convex optimisation problem involving LMI constraints that can be solved efficiently using recently developed interior point optimisation methods. An LMI based controller for a vehicle system was developed. The controller design process involved setting up an optimisation problem with matrix inequality constraints. These LMI constraints were derived for a vehicle suspension system. The resulting LMI controller was then tested on a quarter-car model using computer simulations. The LMI controller results were compared with an optimal PID controller design solution. The LMI controller was further tested by incorporating a nonlinear term in the vehicle's suspension model; the LMI's controller degraded response was enhanced by using gain-scheduling techniques. The LMI controller with gain-scheduling gave good results in spite of the unmodelled dynamics in the suspension system, which was triggered by large deflections due to off-road driving. 相似文献

This study presents a few fail-safe control strategies based on reliability evaluation scenarios for the electronic brake systems of green cars in several critical cases. CarSim and MATLAB Simulink were used to develop the FCEV model with regenerative braking involving EWBs and EMBs. The proposed reliability evaluation scenarios were simulated, and a few fail-safe control algorithms were verified using the proposed reliability evaluation scenarios with the developed FCEV simulation model.
