Since this year, international concern about shiprecycling industry has been ascending. At the beginning of this year, the Convention on the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships of IMO after further negotiation and improvement has fixed the date for adoption. The green paper on better ship dismantling launched by EU also aroused wide concern from the industry. Almost at the same time, BIMCO held a special workshop on ship scrapping at its Asia forum in June. So there are all the indications that international community is quickly focusing on green ship-scrapping. This has brought a favorable opportunity of devel- opment to the Chinese shiprecycling industry which has long aimed at safety, environmentally-friendliness and occupational health.  相似文献

Predicting damage to vibration isolators in a raft experiencing heavy shock loadings from explosions is an important task when designing a raft system. It is also vital to be able to research the vulnerability of heavily shocked floating rafts unreliable, especially when the allowable values The conventional approach to prediction has been or ultimate values of vibration isolators of supposedly uniform standard in a raft actually have differing and uncertain values due to defective workmanship. A new model for predicting damage to vibration isolators in a shocked floating raft system is presented in this paper. It is based on a support vector machine(SVM), which uses Artificial Intelligence to characterize complicated nonlinear mapping between the impacting environment and damage to the vibration isolators. The effectiveness of the new method for predicting damage was illustrated by numerical simulations, and shown to be effective when relevant parameters of the model were chosen reasonably. The effect determining parameters, including kernel function and penalty factors, has on prediction results is also discussed. It can be concluded that the SVM will probably become a valid tool to study damage or vulnerability in a shocked raft system.  相似文献

The external draft of Harmonized Common Structural Rules (CSR-H) for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers has been released for external review. Based on a consistent methodology at the adoption of the current CSR, CSR-H aims to be in compliance with the IMO GBS where GBS functional requirements fall within the scope, and the safety level is equivalent to or higher than the current CSR criteria. In this paper, by consequence assessment on a 320k VLCC, a 163k Suezmax tanker, a 115k Aframax tanker, a 76k Panamax tanker and a 48k MR tanker, the results of the comparison on the structural scantlings to CSR, the evaluation on the increasing of steel weight and some critical technique issues are discussed.  相似文献

Escalating apprehension about the harmful effects of widespread use of conventional fossil fuels in the marine field and in internal combustion engines in general, has led to a vast amount of efforts and the directing of large capital investment towards research and development of sustainable alternative energy sources. One of the most promising and abundant of these sources is hydrogen. Firstly, the use of current fossil fuels is. discussed focusing on the emissions and economic sides to emphasize the need for a new, cleaner and renewable fuel with particular reference to hydrogen as a suitable possible alternative. Hydrogen properties, production and storage methods are then reviewed along with its suitability from the economical point of view. Finally, a cost analysis for the use of hydrogen in internal combustion engines is carried out to illustrate the benefits of its use as a replacement for diesel. The outcome of this cost analysis shows that 98% of the capital expenditure is consumed by the equipment, and 68.3% of the total cost of the equipment is spent on the solar photovoltaic cells. The hydrogen plant is classified as a large investment project because of its high initial cost which is about 1 billion US$; but this is justified because hydrogen is produced in a totally green way. When hydrogen is used as a fuel, no harmful emissions are obtained.  相似文献

The methodology to obtain the non-linear roll damping from decay tests is very old. It has been proposed by Froude in the 19th century and used from then on. In recent years,China‘s shipbuilding industry has witnessed rapid growth.It‘s reported that china has set the goal to grab 16% of the world market share with the annual output of shipbuilding reaching 10 million deadweight tonnage by 2005, and 24 million deadweight tonnage representing 35% of the world market share by 2015. In addition, over 80% of the marine equipment to be installed on board will be made in China by 2010, compared with the current ratio of 30%. The quarter-circular caisson breakwater (QCB) is a new type of breakwater, and it can be applied in deepwater. The stability of QCB under wave force action can be enhanced, and the rubble mound engineering can be less than that of semi-circular breakwaters in deepwater. In order to study the wave force distribution acting on the QCB, to find wave force formula for this type of breakwater, firstly in this paper, the distribution characteristics of the horizontal force, the downward vertical force and the uplift force on the breakwater were gotten based on physical model wave flume experiments and on the analysis of the wave pressure experimental data. Based on a series of physical model tests acted by irregular waves, a kind of calculation method, which was modified by Goda formula, was proposed to carry out the wave force on the QCB. Secondly, the reliability method with correlated variables was adopted to analyze the QCB, considering the high correlation between wave forces or moments. Utilizing the observed wave data in engineering field, the reliability index and failure probability of QCB were obtained. Finally, a factor Q=0.9 is given to modify the zero pressure height above SWL of QCB, and wave force partial coefficient 1.34 to the design expressions of QCB for anti-sliding, as well as 1.67 for anti-overturning, were presented.  相似文献
