On the Stability of a Flexible Vehicle Controlled by a Human Pilot

This paper presents a stability analysis of a vehicle flexible in the plane of yawing and being controlled by a human pilot. The vehicle is represented by a two degrees-of-freedom model and the pilot is assumed to respond to the lateral displacement and to the lateral velocity with a time delay. It is shown that in order for the pilot model to exhibit a realistic human operator behavior, driver's gain must be linearly proportional to vehicle velocity and also inversely related to frontal visibility. Moreover, application of the Hurwitz criterion indicated that flexibility of the vehicle frame has a destabilising effect on the lateral stability and reduces the stable domain of operation.     

The Institute for Marine Studies, University of Washington

The University of Washington recently (1981) established a College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences which incorporates extant programmes in oceanography, fisheries and other marine resource fields. The Institute for Marine Studies (IMS), organized in 1972 and presently directed by Professor Warren Wooster, is one component of the new college. IMS, a multidisciplinary academic and research unit, focuses on the management and policy issues arising from the many different uses of marine and coastal resources.     

管推进工程管线与土壤互制行为之分析研究

本研究主要是针对非明挖工法中之管推进工法,以有限元素法来仿真分析管推进工程中的相关问题,并且加入了管材与土体表面之间的接触性质来探讨管推进工程中管材与土体的互制行为.本次数值分析包含了物理模型试验与曲线推进工程等两种数值分析模型.在物理模型的数值分析中,考虑开挖面超挖与挤压的两种状况,并且与实验量测数据做比较.而在曲线推进的数值分析中,则建立一般土层中在外侧土体地盘改良前后的两种情况来互相比较,观察改良前后推进过程中观察土体的应力分布情况和地表沉陷量变化,期能将结果回馈到真实的工程设计之上.

Transient Response Test Procedures for Measuring Vehicle Directional Control

A comparative study of four different test procedures for quantifying the transient lateral response of automobiles is presented in this paper. Both full-scale testing and analysis have been used in this study. The random steering technique appears to offer several advantages over other procedures in terms of space-requirement and the amount of transient dynamics information generated, whereas the step-steering procedure is more suited to the measurement of steady-state behavior of the automobile.     

钢轨波纹磨耗研究综述

一个多世纪以来,铁路直线段钢轨的短波磨耗始终是尚未解决的难题,不仅造成了噪声污染,而且增加了养护维修费用。经过世界范围内很多国家上百年的研究,积累了很多资料并加深了理解。从历史的角度来看,这些研究成果可以和如今的铁路工程技术水平及其资产相媲美。本文对不同时期钢轨波磨的研究进行评述。     

A Tool for Coastal Setbacks Demarcation over Rough,Impermeable Shores: The Test Case of Kavala Coastline (Northern Greece)

Although setback zones and lines are considered as a powerful coastal zone management tool ensuring public access, protecting the coastal ecosystem and minimizing natural hazards over developments, the lack of a solid and objective Mediterranean methodological framework for coastal setbacks demarcation appears profound. Especially for countries like Greece, this deficiency leads to long legal disputes encouraging illegal construction on the coastline. In this article a methodology on coastal setbacks demarcation over rocky, impermeable shores is proposed, followed, and implemented along a Greek shoreline, serving as a pilot case study. The methodology is consistent with the requirements of the integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) Protocol and the Greek legislation (L. 2971/2001), aiming to determine the “highest winter waterline,” accounting for the tidal and storm surge effects, the sea-level rise due to climate change impact, the extreme offshore wind and wave analysis, and the maximum potential wave run-up. Such a tool may bridge the gap between legislative provisions and actual ICZM Protocol implementation improving regional coastal management and planning.     

PPARγ及其辅激活子MED1重组腺病毒的制备与生物学功能分析

目的制备大量PPARγ与MED1腺病毒,探讨其生物学功能。方法以实验室现有的腺病毒原液为材料,用HEK293a细胞包装腺病毒,CsCl梯度离心法纯化病毒,A260法测定病毒颗粒,并通过细胞感染、小鼠活体尾静脉注射病毒等实验,用HE染色法、Real-time PCR及免疫组化法进一步鉴定病毒的生物学功能。结果获得Ad/LacZ、Ad/PPARγ和Ad/MED1,其浓度分别为2.51×1012、1.57×1012、2.59×1012 VP/mL。C57BL/6J小鼠经尾静脉注射Ad/PPARγ,小鼠出现脂肪肝,肝细胞聚集大量脂滴,且PPARγmRNA和蛋白表达显著增加。同样,用Ad/MED1感染3T3-L1细胞或给小鼠尾静脉注射Ad/MED1,MED1表达水平都显著升高。结论Ad/PPARγ、Ad/MED1及对照Ad/LacZ成功制备,为体外细胞病毒感染以及活体研究PPARγ与MED1的基因功能以及网络调控奠定了实验基础。
