Reliable route guidance can be obtained by solving the reliable a priori shortest path problem, which finds paths that maximize the probability of arriving on time. The goal of this paper is to demonstrate the benefits and applicability of such route guidance using a case study. An adaptive discretization scheme is first proposed to improve the efficiency in computing convolution, a time-consuming step used in the reliable routing algorithm to obtain path travel time distributions. Methods to construct link travel time distributions from real data in the case study are then discussed. Particularly, the travel time distributions on arterial streets are estimated from linear regression models calibrated from expressway data. Numerical experiments demonstrate that optimal paths are substantially affected by the reliability requirement in rush hours, and that reliable route guidance could generate up to 5-15% of travel time savings. The study also verifies that existing algorithms can solve large-scale problems within a reasonable amount of time. 相似文献

The main objective of this paper is to develop mathematical formulations to gain insight into the best way to distribute financial incentives to receivers of urban deliveries to maximize participation in off-hour deliveries. The paper considers two different types of incentive budgets: exogenous, and endogenous. The exogenous case represents the condition in which an external decision maker determines the incentive budget that is to be distributed among potential participants in off-hour deliveries. In the case of an endogenous incentive budget, the entity distributing the incentives must raise the necessary funds using revenue generation mechanisms such as tolls and fines. The optimal incentives are obtained from the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker conditions of a mathematical program that maximizes the number of truck trips shifted to the off-hours as a function of the incentives. The mathematical models developed in this paper provide guidelines about how to optimally distribute financial incentives to foster off-hour deliveries. 相似文献

Kalker's creep coefficients for linear rolling contact problems are only valid in the steady state case. A method for the extension of linear contact mechanics into the high frequency range is presented. Frequency dependent creep coefficients are obtained, which can be interpreted as harmonic responses of the creep forces for harmonically varying creepages. Input correlations involving time delays are common in active vehicle suspension system problems. One approach to control law derivation fur such systems is to restrict attention to slate feedback laws in the interests of practicality and it is then of interest to determine the law which is, in some sense, the best. Under assumptions which are common in this area. relating to input, system and cost Function forms, a new derivation of the expression for the cost, accounting for time delays, is given. The use of the expression in numerical procedures for determining effective control gains is discussed and an example for a half car planar vehicle model is described. By comparing results with existing ones which are truly optimal, an estimate is made of the loss of performance which results from the restriction of the control law form in this case. The objective of this study is to investigate the dynamic deformation characteristics of an automotive A/C hose assembly using
the finite element method and experimentation. The finite element analysis consisted of two analyses, specifically, a modal
and a transient analysis. The dynamic modal analysis was conducted to assess the dynamic characteristics of the A/C hose structure,
and the dynamic transient analysis was performed to investigate the dynamic stresses of an automotive A/C hose by dynamic
loading with particular emphasis on the reinforced braid. Furthermore, the analyses results are expected to provide useful
reference data in the design optimization of the hose layout related to the constrained design space. Modal testing was undertaken
to verify the FE model. The FE result was in good agreement with the experimental results. The modal analysis result showed
that the bending and swing modes of the hose occurred in the first six natural frequencies. The dynamic transient result showed
that the maximum stress in the hose components occurred in the reinforced braid layers, which are particularly damage-prone. 相似文献

The hybridization of the conventional thermal vehicles nowadays constitutes a paramount importance for car manufacturers,
facing the challenge of minimizing the consumption of the road transport. Although hybrid power train technologies did not
converge towards a single solution, series/parallel power trains with power-split electromechanical transmissions prove to
be the most promising hybrid technology. In fact, these power trains show maximum power train overall efficiency and maximum
fuel reduction in almost all driving conditions compared to the conventional and other hybrid power trains. This paper addresses
the model and design of the electro-mechanical configuration of one of the most effective HEV power trains: case study of
the 2nd generation Prius. It presents the simulation work of the overall operation of the Toyota Hybrid System (THS-II) of
the Prius, and explores not only its power-split eCVT innovative transmission system but also its overall supervision controller
for energy management. The kinematic and dynamic behaviors of the THS-II power train are explained based on the power-split
aspect of its transmission through a planetary gear train. Then, the possible regular driving functionalities that result
from its eCVT operation and the energy flow within its power train are outlined. A feed-forward dynamic model of the studied
power train is next proposed, supervised by a rule-based engineering intuition controller. The energy consumption of the THS-II
proposed model has been validated by comparing simulation results to published results on European, American and Japanese
