Globally, safety has become an increasingly important issue in the automotive industry. In an attempt to reduce traffic fatalities, UNECE launched a new EU Road Safety Program which aims to decrease the number of road deaths by half by 2020. AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking) is a very effective active safety system intended to reduce fatalities. This study involves the design of a multi-sensor data fusion strategy and decision-making algorithm for AEB pedestrian. Possible collision avoidance scenarios according to the EuroNCAP protocol are analyzed and a robust pedestrian tracking strategy is proposed. The performance of the AEB system is enhanced by using a braking model to predict the collision avoidance time and by designing the system activation zone according to the relative speed and possible distance required to stop for pedestrians. The AEB activation threshold requires careful consideration. The test results confirm the advantages of the proposed algorithm, the performance of which is described in this paper. 相似文献

As for the tire analysis, lateral tire force is a fundamental factor that describes the stability of vehicle handling. Attempts to analyze the vehicle stability have been made based on various objective test methods and some specific factors such as yaw, lateral acceleration and roll angle. However, the problem to identify which axle is lack of the tire grip at a certain situation still remains. Since indoor tire force measurement system cannot represent a real road and vehicle conditions, tire force measurement through a real vehicle test is inevitable. Due to the high price of the tire force measurement device, tire force estimator can be an alternative toward cost reduction and device failure. In this paper, nonlinear planar full car model combined with tire model is proposed. This paper investigates the bi-directional flow characteristics at signalized crosswalk facilities in Hong Kong. Pedestrian flow measurements were conducted at selected signalized crosswalks in Hong Kong urban area with and without the Light Rail Transit (LRT) railway tracks in the median of the carriageway. The pedestrian speed-flow functions for these crosswalk facilities were calibrated. The relationships between the walking speed at capacity and directional distribution of pedestrian flow (or flow ratio) are determined. The effects of different flow ratio on the effective capacity are also investigated. The bi-directional pedestrian flow effects on signalized crosswalk facilities with LRT tracks are found more significant than those without LRT tracks. The result could be used as a basis to improve the assessment of the crosswalk's capacity and to determine the design walking speeds under different flow ratios at signalized crosswalks in Hong Kong and in other Asian cities with similar environments. 相似文献

This paper deals with friction-induced vibration of a disc brake system with a constant friction coefficient. A linear, lumped,
and distributed parameter model to represent the floating caliper disc brake system is proposed. The complex eigenvalues are
used to investigate the dynamic stability, and, in order to verify simulations which are based on the theoretical model, an
experimental modal test and dynamometer test are performed. The comparison of experimental and theoretical results shows good
agreement, and the analysis indicates that modal coupling due to friction forces is responsible for disc brake squeal. Also,
squeal type instability is investigated, using a parametric analysis. This indicates which parameters have influence on the
propensity of brake squealing. This is helpful for validating the analysis model and establishing confidence in the experimental
results of the modified system. These results may also be useful during system development or diagnostic analysis. 相似文献

Fatigue design approach for the spot-welded T-type member using a simulated single spot-welded joint
In order to develop a fatigue design method for actual railroad car and commercial vehicle body structures using the fatigue
data of simulated single spot-welded lap joints, we first analyzed the stress distribution and evaluated fatigue strength
of spot-welded T-type members that are the components of actual railroad car and commercial vehicle body structures. Next,
fatigue design approach of these members using the fatigue data of single spot-welded lap joints was investigated. From our
results, we found that, even though there was a quantitative difference of fatigue strength between the single spot-welded
joint and the actual members over the same number of fatigue cycles, through the use of appropriate correction, the fatigue
design criterion of actual spot-welded members, such as those used in railroad car and commercial vehicle body, can be predicted

The excitation force of a powertrain is one of major sources of interior noise in a vehicle. This paper presents a novel approach
to predict the interior noise caused by the vibration of the powertrain by using the hybrid TPA (transfer path analysis) method.
Although the traditional transfer path analysis (TPA) is useful for the identification of powertrain noise sources, it is
difficult to modify the structure of a powertrain by using experiments for the reduction of vibration and noise. In order
to solve this problem, the vibration of the powertrain in a vehicle is numerically analyzed by using the finite element method
(FEM). The vibration of the other parts of the vehicle is investigated by using experiments based on vibrato-acoustic transfer
function (VATF) analysis. These two methods are combined for the prediction of interior noise caused by a powertrain. Throughout
this research, two papers are presented. This paper presents a simulation of the excitation force of the powertrain exciting
the vehicle body based on numerical simulation. The other paper presents a prediction of interior noise based on the hybrid

The Vehicle stability control system is an active safety system designed to prevent accidents from occurring and to stabilize
dynamic maneuvers of a vehicle by generating an artificial yaw moment using differential brakes. In this paper, in order to
enhance vehicle steerability, lateral stability, and roll stability, each reference yaw rate is designed and combined into
a target yaw rate depending on the driving situation. A yaw rate controller is designed to track the target yaw rate based
on sliding mode control theory. To generate the total yaw moment required from the proposed yaw rate controller, each brake
pressure is properly distributed with effective control wheel decision. Estimators are developed to identify the roll angle
and body sideslip angle of a vehicle based on the simplified roll dynamics model and parameter adaptation approach. The performance
of the proposed vehicle stability control system and estimation algorithms is verified with simulation results and experimental

In SI engines, valve events have a major influence on volumetric efficiency, fuel economy and exhaust emissions. Moreover,
swirl and tumble motions in the intake charge also improve combustion speed and quality by stratifying the mixture as well
as intensifying the mixing rate of air and fuel. This paper investigates the behaviors of an engine and the combustion phenomenon
for various intake valve timings and intake charge motions using CVVT system and port masking schemes. Test condition includes
a part load and a cold idle condition inclusive of a cold start of the engine. Time-resolved HC and NOx emissions were also
measured at an exhaust port to examine their formation mechanisms and behaviors with fast response HC/NOx analyzers. In conclusion,
the fast burning of fuel and improved combustion quality by enhanced charge motions reduced unburned HC emissions, and advancing
the intake valve opening reduced HC as well as NOx. Furthermore, HCs during the cold transient phase and idle conditions decreased
with recalibrated start parameters such as lean air-fuel ratio and spark retardation via the enhancement of intake charge
