In this paper we present a non-linear demand system for households’ joint choice of number of trips and days to spend at a destination. The approach, which facilitates welfare analysis of exogenous policy and price changes, is used empirically to study the effects of an increased CO2 tax. In particular, we focus on the effect of including substitution between households choice of the number of trips and days to spend at a destination in the welfare analysis. The analysis reveals that the equivalent variation (EV) measure, for the count data demand system, can be seen as an upper bound for the households welfare loss. Approximating the welfare loss by the change in consumer surplus, accounting for the positive effect from longer stays, imposes a lower bound on the households welfare loss. The difference in the estimated loss measures, from the considered CO2 tax reform, is about 20%. This emphasizes the importance of accounting for substitutions toward longer stays in travel demand policy evaluations.  相似文献

This paper considers the impact on local residents of audible pedestrian signals (APS) that provide cues to the visually handicapped pedestrians on the onset of the various signal phases at a signalized crosswalk. We investigate the extent of the noise intrusion problem of APS through understanding the acceptability by the general public. From the perception surveys conducted, vehicle engine/braking sound, neighbor talking/playing and vehicle alarm are the top three irritating noises experienced while sleeping whereas audible signals is ranked at 21st position. The maximum sound level of the signals found to be acceptable indoors is close to 60 dBA.  相似文献

基于工程实例,采用反应谱方法、时程分析法对梁系平面刚度偏心分布高桩平台结构地震响应规律进行分析研究。结果发现:横向地震作用下,反应谱法和人工波时程分析法计算结果较为接近,天然波时程分析法结果则因选波呈现差异;桩基二维、三维模型计算结果较为接近,横梁二维、三维模型剪力峰值计算结果接近,弯矩峰值结果差异大。纵向地震作用下,三维反应谱法和人工波时程分析法计算结果接近。不同计算模式对比表明三维反应谱法适应性较好。抗震设防烈度大于7度时,该类型平台结构桩基不宜选用PHC桩。对梁-板连接刚性系数λ进行参数分析表明:λ变化对横梁、纵梁内力的影响大于对桩基的影响,对纵横梁弯矩的影响大于对剪力的影响,且纵向地震作用下影响程度大于横向地震。说明板、梁之间的约束状态改变了结构的刚度分配情况,进而对结构的地震效应产生规律性影响。  相似文献

Residential mobility and relocation choice are essential parts of integrated transportation and land use models. These decision processes have been examined and modeled individually to a great extent but there remain gaps in the literature on the underlying behaviors that connect them. Households may partly base their decision to move from or stay at a current location on the price and quality of the available alternatives. Conversely, households that are on the market for a new location may evaluate housing choices relative to their previous residence. How and the degree to which these decisions relate to each other are, however, not completely understood. This research is intended to contribute to the body of empirical evidence that will help answer these questions. It is hypothesized that residential mobility and location choice are related household decisions that can be modeled together using a two-tier hierarchical structure. This paper presents a novel nested logit (NL) model with sampling of alternatives and a proposed procedure for sampling bias correction. The model was estimated using full-information maximum likelihood estimation methods. The results confirm the applicability of this NL model and support similar findings from other empirical studies in the residential mobility and location choice literature.  相似文献

This research investigates the design and impact of a new travel demand management approach, namely the Downtown Space Reservation System (DSRS), using a microscopic traffic simulation approach executed in VISSIM. The DSRS is part of a Travel Demand Management strategy that is designed to mitigate traffic congestion in a downtown urban setting. The simulation is conducted according to an experimental design procedure for a revised road network representing downtown Boise, Idaho. The issues that are tested in the simulation include: (1) whether the DSRS improves traffic performance when compared with the case without the DSRS; (2) how the DSRS performs compared with a reservation system that uses a First Come First Serve principle; and (3) how the specific DSRS parameters (such as, the relative importance of throughput versus revenue generation) influence network system performance. Conclusions and future research recommendations are provided based on the insights from the simulation modeling work.  相似文献

Ever since the Open Policy in 1979, there has been increasing socio-economic integration between Hong Kong and mainland China. The subsequent rapid export-oriented industrialization in the Hong Kong-Pearl River Delta (HK-PRD) region has given rise to rapidly growing cross-boundary container truck traffic (XBCT). From 1992 to 2003, the volume of XBCT rose from 1.5 to 4.7 million vehicles per annum. Hence, a new customs check-point, the Shenzhen Western Corridor (SWC), was built. With the development of SWC, how would XBCT drivers change their route-cum-customs (RCC) choice? What were their major considerations? How would the route choice among goods vehicle drivers differ from private car drivers? To what extent would the opening of new customs check-points change the RCC choice of goods vehicle drivers and resolve the uneven distribution problem of freight traffic? [目的]针对微小型欠驱动自主式水下机器人(autonomous underwater vehicle,AUV)集群控制问题,设计一种基于改进RRT^(*)算法的编队控制策略。[方法]RRT^(*)算法规划的路径陡变难以跟踪且收敛速度较慢,针对该问题提出改进方法。首先加入偏置函数使随机采样点靠近目标点,然后采用Dubins曲线平滑连接采样点,通过在可变半径范围内重新布线,并设计有关曲线长度与避障的代价函数,选择最优路径。依据代价和最小值为多AUV分配集结点,协调多AUV速度完成最小集结时间约束,随后设计基于Dubins路径的分段向量场构造方法,使得多AUV跟踪规划路径,到达目标集结点时速度与方向保持一致。[结果]仿真结果表明,多AUV编队平均路径长度缩短26.6%,平均集结时间缩短21.7%。[结论]该算法路径规划质量高,可顺利完成编队集结任务。  相似文献
