In this paper several dynamical models of fluid suspensions for tracked air cushion vehicles are analyzed and compared. Specifically, the models considered conform to: a fifth-order linear suspension, a nonlinear configuration with a constant supply pressure, a nonlinear model with compressor characteristics, and a sixth-order nonlinear model with a supply duct connecting the compressor to the cushion chamber. Nonlinearities included in the analysis are the flexible-skirted cushion capacitance, cushion entrance and exit orifice restrictions, feeding system duct fluid capacitance, and compressor pressure-flow characteristics. Temporal responses are obtained for guideway and external force inputs. Back flow conditions under which the supply compressor can stall are examined. It is shown that the general behavior resulting from linear analysis is in many respects similar to that obtained from the nonlinear analysis. Thus, a linear model could provide a good initial basis for a preliminary design and performance specifications. 相似文献

Controllers for semi-active suspensions have to account for constraints on damper range, tire force and suspension travel. Two approaches to incorporate these constraints in the design of controllers to minimize peak values in the chassis acceleration are considered. It is assumed that information on the oncoming road elevations (preview) is available. In the soft constraint approach, the constraints on tire force and suspension travel are included in a quadratic performance index. Two clipped optimal control laws, which deal with preview in a different way, are presented. Simulation results with a 2-DOF vehicle model on some rounded pulses show that these laws do not work satisfactorily with respect to the constraints. Therefore, the control problem is reformulated as a constrained optimization problem with hard constraints on tire force and suspension travel. Simulations with the same model on the same rounded pulses show that the hard constraint approach handles the constraints more properly. 相似文献

An accurate estimation of the maximum tire-road friction coefficient may provide higher performance in a vehicle active safety control system. Unfortunately, real-time tire-road friction coefficient estimation is costly and necessitates additional sensors that must be installed and maintained at all times. This paper proposes an advanced longitudinal tire-road friction coefficient estimation method that is capable of considering irregular road surfaces. The proposed algorithm uses a stiffness based estimation method, however, unlike previous studies, improvements were made by suggesting a third order model to solve problems related to nonlinear mu-slip curve. To attain the tire-road friction coefficient, real-time normalized force is obtained from the force estimator as exerted from the tire in the low slip region using the recursive least squares method. The decisive aspect of using the suggested algorithm lies in its low cost and versatility. It can be used under irregular road conditions due to its capability of easily obtaining wheel speed and acceleration values from production cars. In this paper, a novel direct yaw control method based on driver operation intention for stability control of a distributed drive electric vehicle is proposed. It was discovered that the vehicle loses its stability easily under an emergency steering alignment (EA) problem. An emergent control algorithm is proposed to improve vehicle stability under such a condition. A driver operation intention recognition module is developed to identify the driving conditions. When the vehicle enters into an EA condition, the module can quickly identify it and transfer the control method from normal direct yaw control to emergency control. Two control algorithms are designed. The emergency control algorithm is applied to an EA condition while the adaptive control algorithm is applied to other conditions except the EA condition. Both simulation results and real vehicle results show that: The driver module can accurately identify driving conditions based on driver operation intention. When the vehicle enters into EA condition, the emergent control algorithm can intervene quickly, and it has proven to outperform normal direct yaw control for better stabilization of vehicles. 相似文献

The development and validation of a modular composite impact structure is presented in the present paper. Quasi-static and dynamic impact tests of the composite components and a full frontal crash test of a vehicle prototype with composite impact structures manufactured by a new UV-pultrusion process have been performed. The results have demonstrated the feasibility of composite impact structures for crash applications with high specific energy absorption values compared with current metallic crash structures. Furthermore, due to the high production capacity of this new manufacturing process, cost-effective composite impact structures for mass-production of conventional cars may be feasible. Finally, a multimaterial numerical model as design tool for crashworthiness applications has also been validated. Different accelerations measured in the crash test have been accurately predicted as well as the crash behaviour of the composite impact structures. 相似文献

This paper presents a low cost design and implementation of a parallel parking assist system (PPAS) based on ultrasonic sensors.
Generally, a PPAS requires several types of sensors, such as an ultrasonic sensor, camera sensor, radar sensor and laser sensor
for parking space detection. However, our proposed PPAS only requires two ultrasonic sensors on the front and lateral sides
for parking space detection. Moreover, a steering angle sensor and wheel speed sensor installed in the vehicle are used to
obtain vehicle position information for localization in ultrasonic range data. The hardware architecture of the PPAS based
on an electronic control unit (ECU) module, sensor modules and a human machine interface (HMI) module was proposed. Moreover,
the software architecture of the PPAS is based on system initialization, scheduling, recognition and a control algorithm.
In particular, a novel sensor algorithm was proposed to minimize the vehicle corner error of the ultrasonic sensor. A prototype
of the PPAS based on the proposed architecture was constructed. The experimental results demonstrate that the implemented
prototype is robust and successfully performs parking space detection and automatic steering control. Finally, the low cost
design and implementation of the PPAS was possible due to the cheap ultrasonic sensors, simple hardware design and low computational

Particulate matter is considered to be the most harmful pollutant emitted into air from diesel engine exhaust, and its reduction
is one of the most challenging problems in modern society. Several after-treatment retrofit programs have been proposed to
control such emission, but to date, they suffer from high engineering complexity, high cost, thermal cracking, and increased
back pressure, which in turn deteriorates diesel engine combustion performance. This paper proposes a solution for controlling
diesel soot particulate emissions by an improved theoretical model for calculating the overall collection efficiency of a
cyclone. The model considers the combined effect of collection efficiencies of both outer and inner vortices by introducing
a particle distribution function to account for the non-uniform distribution of soot particles across the turbulent vortex
section and by including the Cunningham correction factor for molecular slip of the particles. The cut size diameter model
has also been modified and proposed by introducing the Cunningham correction factor for molecular slip of the separated soot
particles under investigation. The results show good agreements with the existing theoretical and experimental studies of
