A low-cost solution based on fuel injection strategies was investigated to optimize the combustion process in a boosted port
fuel injection spark ignition (PFI SI) engine. The goal was to reduce the fuel consumption and pollutant emissions while maintaining
performance. The effect of fuel injection was analyzed for the closed and open valve conditions, and the multiple injection
strategies (MIS) based on double and triple fuel injection in the open-valve condition. The tests were performed on an optical
accessible single-cylinder PFI SI engine equipped with an external boost device. The engine was operated at full load and
with a stoichiometric ratio equivalent to that of commercial gasolines. Optical techniques based on 2D-digital imaging were
used to follow the flame propagation from the flame kernel to late combustion phase. In particular, the diffusion-controlled
flames near the valves and cylinder walls, due to fuel deposition, were studied. In these conditions, the presence of soot
was measured by two-color pyrometry, and correlated with engine parameters and exhaust emissions measured by conventional
methods. The open valve fuel injection strategies demonstrated better combustion process efficiency than the closed ones.
They provided very low soot levels in the combustion chamber and engine exhaust, and a reduction in specific fuel consumption.
The multiple injection strategies proved to be the best solution in terms of performance, soot concentration, and fuel consumption. 相似文献

A piezoelectric atomization device achieves fuel pressure modulation through vibration of a piezoelectric pressure modulator.
As a consequence, the fast alternating and slow moving streams collide with each other and further break up the fuel drop.
In this paper, an experimental investigation was carried out to study the fluid dynamic characteristics of the spray atomization
process of automotive port fuel injectors with a piezoelectric pressure modulator. The investigation mainly focuses on: (a)
the coupling characteristics between the piezoelectric stack and the hydraulic as well as the transfer characteristics of
pressure modulation from the piezoelectric modulator to the point above the orifice; (b) the time history of the pressure
dynamic response at the point above the orifice under a typical modulation frequency, which reflects the variation of pressure
modulation while the fuel injector is working; and (c) the time-variation characteristics related to mechanical structure
and fluid dynamics. The experimental results expose some important dynamic characteristics of pressure modulation, which will
be very significant and lead us to greatly improve the fuel injection system, optimize the control parameters and implement

In SI engines, valve events have a major influence on volumetric efficiency, fuel economy and exhaust emissions. Moreover,
swirl and tumble motions in the intake charge also improve combustion speed and quality by stratifying the mixture as well
as intensifying the mixing rate of air and fuel. This paper investigates the behaviors of an engine and the combustion phenomenon
for various intake valve timings and intake charge motions using CVVT system and port masking schemes. Test condition includes
a part load and a cold idle condition inclusive of a cold start of the engine. Time-resolved HC and NOx emissions were also
measured at an exhaust port to examine their formation mechanisms and behaviors with fast response HC/NOx analyzers. In conclusion,
the fast burning of fuel and improved combustion quality by enhanced charge motions reduced unburned HC emissions, and advancing
the intake valve opening reduced HC as well as NOx. Furthermore, HCs during the cold transient phase and idle conditions decreased
with recalibrated start parameters such as lean air-fuel ratio and spark retardation via the enhancement of intake charge

Through the years, traffic engineers and researchers have developed a variety of countermeasures to enhance pedestrian safety.
Pedestrian-vehicle collisions are regarded as the most serious type of accident since they incur high fatality rates. A fundamental
concept in developing effective countermeasures is to analyze pedestrian-vehicle collisions scientifically, which can identify
the causes of accidents and accident severity. The objective of this study was to investigate the pedestrian safety benefit
of the brake assistance system (BAS) and a functional requirement associated with BAS, namely the time needed to safely detect
a pedestrian ahead. An injury severity prediction model for pedestrians was developed to systematically evaluate the BAS in
this study. Ordered multinomial logistic regression analysis was used to establish a statistical model capable of predicting
pedestrian injury severity. In addition to vehicle characteristics, collision speed and pedestrian characteristics were used
as independent predictor variables. The outcomes of this study would be useful in directing the development of safety policies

为探究出行安全对用户出行选择行为的影响,提出了考虑事故风险成本和旅行时间的多类用户交通分配模型。针对事故发生的随机性特征,定义了路径出行安全可靠性概念,并以此计算用户的事故风险成本预算,体现出行者的安全偏好。基于考虑事故机会和事故风险的基础事故预测模型,针对路段和交叉口的不同特征,分别定义了路段和交叉口的事故风险成本分布。构建的交叉口事故风险成本模型,体现了交叉口不同转向的事故风险成本的差异性。为了求解基于安全可靠性的多类用户交通分配模型,采用路径配流法和相继平均法设计了相应的求解算法,并通过算例分析了模型和算法的有效性。研究结果表明:安全可靠性在用户出行选择中具有重要影响。当在广义出行费用中考虑事故风险成本时,出行者会更多地选择事故风险成本较小的路径;不同风险倾向的用户会有不同的选择特征,保守型出行者倾向于选择路径事故风险成本标准差相对较小的路径,即事故风险成本波动小的路径,而中立型出行者倾向于选择事故风险成本均值相对较低的路径;考虑交叉口的事故风险成本与否会直接影响流量分配结果,即路径交叉口数量和转向的差异性同样会影响出行者的选择。所提出的模型对于客流预测和网络安全评价与管理具有潜在的应用价值。 相似文献

为了解决大跨度桥梁在随机车辆荷载和风荷载作用下局部应力求解耗时问题,首先以矮寨大桥为工程背景,建立壳-梁混合单元有限元模型,确定大桥应力的关键位置及关键点,采用分段拟合方法获得随机车辆荷载的影响面函数和风荷载的影响线函数;结合吉茶高速实际交通量特征及随机参数分布特征,采用蒙特卡罗方法,编制抽样程序生成随机车流样本。其次采用风-车-桥耦合振动分析获得典型车辆的等效车辆荷载;引入风荷载动力影响系数,提出了一种简便实用的随机车流下大跨度桥梁风致应力分析方法。最后应用ANSYS计算分析结果验证所提方法的正确可行性,分析矮寨大桥在随机车流和风荷载联合作用下的关键点应力响应。结果表明:风速低于15 m·s-1时,风荷载引起大桥关键点应力响应远小于车辆荷载引起的应力响应;繁忙车流下应力响应的幅值并不比稀疏车流下的应力幅值大很多,但是繁忙车流下应力响应的峰值数量远大于稀疏车流下的峰值数量,即应力的循环次数多,会增大桥梁的疲劳损伤。 相似文献

Travel demand analyses are useful for transportation planning and policy development in a study area. However, travel demand modeling faces two obstacles. First, standard practice solves the four travel components (trip generation, trip distribution, modal split and network assignment) in a sequential manner. This can result in inconsistencies and non-convergence. Second, the data required are often complex and difficult to manage. Recent advances in formal methods for network equilibrium-based travel demand modeling and computational platforms for spatial data handling can overcome these obstacles. In this paper we report on the development of a prototype geographic information system (GIS) design to support network equilibrium-based travel demand models. The GIS design has several key features, including: (i) realistic representation of the multimodal transportation network, (ii) increased likelihood of database integrity after updates, (iii) effective user interfaces, and (iv) efficient implementation of network equilibrium solution algorithms. 相似文献

A one-dimensional scheme is used to assimilate satellite Sea Surface Temperature data into the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory Coastal Ocean Modelling System, set up in the Irish Sea with a fine resolution ( 1.8 km). The capabilities of the assimilation scheme are investigated using two different sets of satellite data, of lower and similar resolution to that of the model respectively. Comparison of results with independent data show that assimilation improves the modelled Sea Surface Temperature, but does not address model representation of the temperature vertical structure. It is concluded that for the Irish Sea and at the scales resolved by the model, the assimilation problem cannot be approached in a one-dimensional framework. It is also pointed out that forecast error needs to account explicitly for errors in the representation of the vertical structure of the thermal field.Three-dimensional methods that are suited for coastal systems are then suggested. 相似文献
