With the advent of emerging wireless communication technologies, tremendous efforts have been put on promoting the safety and efficiency of transportation services by developing innovative applications. In particular, there has been significant interest in accessing information stored at RSUs (Roadside Units). The unique characteristics in vehicular networks, such as dynamic traffic factors including vehicle arrival rate, dwell time and data access patterns, bring us new challenges on data dissemination. This work dedicates to the investigation of timely and adaptive data dissemination in the dynamically changing traffic environment. Firstly, we derive an analytical model to explore and examine the effects of the dynamic traffic factors. In light of the theoretical results, an on-line scheduling algorithm is proposed for adaptive data dissemination. Finally, we evaluate performance of the new algorithm in a variety of circumstances. The simulation results demonstrate satisfactory performance of the proposed algorithm. 相似文献

This research aims to develop an actively translating rear diffuser device to reduce the aerodynamic drag experienced by passenger cars. One of the features of the device is that it is ordinarily hidden under the rear bumper but slips out backward only under high-speed driving conditions. In this study, a movable arc-shaped semi-diffuser device, round in form, is designed to maintain the streamlined automobile??s rear underbody configuration. The device is installed in the rear bumper section of a passenger car. Seven types of rear diffuser devices whose positions and protrusive lengths and widths are different (with the basic shape being identical) were installed, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses were performed under moving ground and rotating wheel conditions. The main purpose of this study is to explain the aerodynamic drag reduction mechanism of a passenger car cruising at high speed via an actively translating rear diffuser device. The base pressure of the passenger car is increased by deploying the rear diffuser device, which then prevents the low-pressure air coming through the underbody from directly soaring up to the rear surface of the trunk. At the same time, the device generates a diffusing process that lowers the velocity but raises the pressure of the underbody flow, bringing about aerodynamic drag reduction. Finally, the automobile??s aerodynamic drag is reduced by an average of more than 4%, which helps to improve the constant speed fuel efficiency by approximately 2% at a range of driving speeds exceeding 70 km/h. 相似文献

The intake system in an automotive engine has a short duct compared with that of the exhaust system. The filtered-x LMS (FX-LMS)
algorithm has been applied to the active noise control (ANC) system in a short acoustic duct. This algorithm design is based
on the FIR (finite impulse response) filter; however, it has a slow convergence issue due to a large number of zero coefficients.
To improve the convergence performance, the step size of the LMS algorithm was modified from fixed to variable. However, this
algorithm is still not suitable for the ANC system of a short acoustic duct because the reference signal is affected by the
backward acoustic wave propagated from a secondary source. Therefore, the recursive filtered-u LMS algorithm (FU-LMS) based
on the infinite impulse response (IIR) is developed to consider backward acoustic propagation. Generally, this algorithm has
a stability problem. The stability issue was improved using an error-smoothing filter. In this paper, the recursive LMS algorithm
with a variable step size and smoothing error filter is designed. This recursive LMS algorithm, the FU-VSSLMS algorithm, uses
an IIR filter. With fast convergence and good stability, this algorithm is suitable for the ANC system in a short acoustic
duct, such as the intake system of an automotive engine. This algorithm is applied to the ANC system of a short acoustic duct.
The disturbance signals used as primary noise source are a sinusoidal signal embedded in white noise and the chirp signal,
which has a variable instantaneous frequency. The test results demonstrate that the FU-VSSLMS algorithm has a superior convergence
performance when compared with the FX-LMS and FX-LMS algorithms. The algorithm can be successfully applied to the ANC system

The coolant flow rate in conventional cooling systems in automotive engines is subject to the mechanical water pump speed,
and high efficiency in terms of fuel economy and exhaust emission is not possible given this limitation. A new technology
must be developed for engine cooling systems. The electronic water pump is used as a substitute for the mechanical water pump
in new engine cooling systems. The new cooling system provides more flexible control of the coolant flow rate and engine temperature,
which previously relied strongly on engine driving conditions such as load and speed. In this study, the feasibility of two
new cooling strategies was investigated using a simulation model that was validated with temperatures measured in a diesel
engine. Results revealed that active coolant control using an electronic water pump and valves substantially contributed to
a reduction of coolant warm-up time during cold engine starts. Harmful emissions and fuel consumption are expected to decrease
as a result of a reduction in warm-up time. 相似文献

FTP75 driving cycle is used in many countries for evaluation of vehicle fuel economy. FTP75 has 3 phases, where the Phase 1 and the Phase 3 have a same velocity profile, but the Phase1, which is known as cold start phase, shows lower fuel efficiency than the Phase 3. In order to analyze the difference of fuel economy between Phase 1 and Phase 3, vehicle tests are performed. The test results show that the differences of fuel economy is ranging from 3.9% to 18.5%. The factors of the difference of fuel economy for gasoline automatic transmission vehicles are analyzed in this research. The key factors affecting the difference of fuel economy are engine friction loss, torque converter loss and accessory loss. The quantitative analysis of these factors is performed. 相似文献

Due to additional trip production by land use development, the O‐D travel costs between some O‐D pairs may also change intuitively. This leads to positive and negative impacts on network users traveling between different O‐D pairs. Therefore the equity issue about the benefit distribution gained from the land‐use development problem is raised. This paper proposes an Equity based Land‐Use Transportation Problem (ELUTP) which is intended to examine the benefit distribution among the network users and the resulting equity associated with land‐use development problem in terms of the change of equilibrium O‐D travel cost. In the resulting bi‐level programming model, the upper level sub‐problem maximizes traffic production incorporating equity constraints, while the lower level sub‐problem is a combined trip distribution/assignment user equilibrium problem. As of late, the Korean government needs quantitative information on economic feasibility analysis for marina port development projects. This study applies a choice experiment to measure public preference for the attributes of marina port in Korea. We consider the trade-offs between price and four attributes of marina port (capacity, access, waterfront, and program) for selecting a preferred alternative and elicit the marginal willingness to pay (MWTP) estimates for each attribute. We also test whether irrelevant alternatives property for the estimation model holds and compare the estimation results of the multinomial logit (MNL) and the nested logit (NL) models. The results show that the NL model outperforms the MNL model. In the NL model, MWTPs for increasing the level of a waterfront from promenade to both promenade and rest area and for the provision of marine leisure experience program are KRW13 384 (USD11.8) and KRW17 937 (USD15.8), respectively. This study is expected to provide policymakers with quantitative information for evaluating marina port construction projects in Korea. 相似文献

This research investigates the underwriting attitude of international commercial banks in lending shipping loans. By adopting the analytic hierarchical process methodology, the underwriting attitude is captured to understand how bankers would deal with shipping loans in response to the current lengthy recession. We find that bankers focus on the criteria of corporate recourse (CR) in their decision-makings. Of the CR factors, the financial strength of shipowner is the most important factor, followed by the shipowner’s business history and the bank–firm relationship. With the current underwriting attitude, the shipping sector may have limited access to shipping loans of international commercial banks due to low corporate ratings caused by the long recession and the nature of industry itself: volatility, fragmentation, capital intensity, high leverage, etc. 相似文献

This paper explores the positions of financial ratios identified utilizing both subjective and objective weighting methods—the consistent fuzzy preference relation (CFPR) and entropy—based on questionnaires collected from experts and the financial statements of major shipping companies in Taiwan and Korea. The comparison of perceptions of financial ratios by country and by expert group illuminates some financial aspects that experts may have ignored or not paid close attention to during the business operating process, especially in today’s turbulent world shipping market. The major results of this paper show that experts in the two countries have different perceptions of the debt-to-equity ratio and that by combining the results of objective and subjective weights, categorization of financial ratios by quadrant can help decision-makers find business options and strategies to improve the financial performance of their companies. This research approach may be applied to other business entities, improving on the direct rating method used in previous studies. 相似文献
