Assessment of the volume of fluid method for free-surface wave flow

This study was concerned with the free-surface wave flow around a surface-piercing foil. The volume of fluid method implemented in a Navier–Stokes computational fluid dynamics code was employed. Three widely used discretization schemes for the volume of fluid method were assessed for a test case that involved general ship waves, spilling breaking waves in front of the leading edge, and bubbly free surfaces in separated regions. A single computational approach was selected for the comparison, and a grid-dependence study was carried out. The computational results were validated against existing experimental data, showing good agreement. The validation results suggest that all three discretization schemes perform well, but the best and most efficient results were obtained using the high-resolution interface capturing scheme.     

Tangential force variation due to the bogie direction reversal procedure

A range of tangential forces is generated within the contact patch when a wheelset moves on the rail. These forces are intensified when incorporating curved tracks and motored axle rail vehicles [Arrus, P., de Pater, A.D. and Meyers, P., 2002, The stationary motion of a one-axle vehicle along a circular curve with real rail and wheel profiles. Vehicle System Dynamics, 37(1), 29–58]. The wheelset is subject to flange contact if an unbalanced force remains in a curve towards the high rail gauge face. The resultant force in the transverse direction includes the lateral force, the radial force, and the creep forces in addition to the effect of the frequent wheelset displacement due to the kinematic oscillation [Iwnicki, S., 2003, Simulation of wheel–rail contact forces. Fatigue Fracture Engineering Material Structure, 26, 887–900]. This article has focused on a potential variation in some of the forces cited when the wheelset is subject to backward and forward movements. A severe wear rate observed within the wheel flange region in Iranian Railways was investigated by operating a test bogie on a curvaceous track. An obvious improvement in the wear rate and wear pattern of the wheels was attained when the second test bogie encountered a bogie direction reversal procedure. This enhancement is considered in this article from the force analysis standpoint.

近年来,区域综合交通规划取得蓬勃发展,但相应的规划环评还处于实践探索阶段,环评指标在累积性评价、运输结构优化、“三线一单”新要求等方面尚存短板。在充分研究公路、铁路、航空、港口、航道等单项交通规划环评和现有综合交通规划环评案例指标的基础上,根据区域综合交通规划及其环境影响的特征,按照科学性和系统性、综合性和宏观性、政策性和导向性、操作性和适用性的原则,提出了区域综合交通规划环评指标体系。分为生态功能、环境质量、资源能源等3大类,生态系统结构、生态敏感区、生物多样性、水环境、大气环境、环境风险、土地资源、水资源、岸线资源、能源等10方面共19个指标,逐项反馈于规划的总体规模、空间布局和运输结构。

主动声纳的低截获性数字仿真研究

在现代海战中,舰艇面临着越来越严峻的敌方侦察声纳的威胁.低截获是一项非常诱人的技术.低截获声纳通过选择合适的发射信号,在保持探测能力的同时,降低被敌方侦察声纳截获的概率.采用数字仿真的形式,分析浅海侦察声纳信号能量的变化,研究主动声纳的低截获性.仿真结果表明在高斯噪声背景下,主动声纳实现低截获性相当困难.     

Alcohol and traffic accidents in Japan

Alcohol induces many traffic accidents. Recently, the number of incidences of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUIA) has decreased in Japan; however, the number of drink-driving situations remains constant. Toughening the penalty has not been a particularly effective method for reducing the number of DUIAs. To reduce accidents resulting from DUIA, an approach other than sanctions may be necessary. Alcohol impairs attentional control for simple tasks and increases the propensity for risk-taking behavior; these are the major perils of DUIA. There are many risk factors for DUIA, including area, time, personal traits, the use of other substances, and alcohol use disorder. Each individual has a different risk factor for drink-driving, so it is important to provide more education for individuals and interventions for alcohol usage according to each risk factor.     

Spectral entropy analysis of different alpha band rhythms in relation to hand motor imagery

The event-related desynchronization/synchronization(ERD/ERS) time courses of lower and upper alpha band rhythms during hand motor imagery are investigated respectively by Fourier Sectral Entropy (FSE) in this paper. By analyzing one group of BCI competition data, it was found that FSE within upper alpha band displays a pronounced increase and decrease over contralateral and ipsilaterai brain areas respectively at the onset of hand motor imagery, which is corresponding to the antagonistic ERD/ERS patterns in previous studies. Different from the upper alpha activity pattern, FSE within lower alpha band displays a consistent increase over both two hemispheres hand representative areas. The preliminary results show that FSE could disclose the different behaviors of the upper and lower alpha band rhythms so that a new idea with the complexity measure is provided to characterize functional dissociation of lower and upper frequency alpha rhythms in relation to hand motor imagery.

陆港建设可以完善西南地区的外贸运输体系,改变西南地区出口集装箱选择海港的行为,为了分析贵州陆港建设后,西南地区出口集装箱选择海港的行为,基于万有引力定律,开发了海港对陆港的吸引力模型,建立了海港综合竞争力评价体系,并基于层次分析法提出了计算海港综合竞争力的方法。以西南地区可利用的港口为对象,分析了西南地区出口集装箱经由贵阳陆港选择海港的概率,为西南地区的出海通道建设和海港的市场营销提供了理论依据。
