This paper considers the rural road network upgrading problem, using a multi-objective optimization model, to support decision-makers in the choice of roads to upgrade in the hilly regions of Nepal. The model considers two objectives: minimization of user operation costs and maximization of population covered. The problem was solved for a real-world rural road network in the Gorkha district of Nepal. For this case, all non-dominated solutions were obtained and the ones providing more interesting trade-offs were analysed. The model was found suitable for the case under study, and possibly, easily extendable to rural areas of other developing countries.  相似文献

CoMP被视为下一代宽带移动通信中的关键技术,是近期的研究热点。其中,联合传输(JP)和波束协调(CS/CB)是CoMP中的主要传输模式。文章提出一种CoMP用户的分类方法,通过对用户分类,然后对分类用户进行JP或CS/CB处理。理论分析表明,基于用户分类的多点协同传输方法,可以提升小区边缘用户的性能和小区的平均吞吐量。  相似文献

This paper develops a mathematical program with equilibrium constraints (MPEC) model for the intermodal hub-and-spoke network design (IHSND) problem with multiple stakeholders and multi-type containers. The model incorporates a parametric variational inequality (VI) that formulates the user equilibrium (UE) behavior of intermodal operators in route choice for any given network design decision of the network planner. The model also uses a cost function that is capable of reflecting the transition from scale economies to scale diseconomies in distinct flow regimes for carriers or hub operators, and a disutility function integrating actual transportation charges and congestion impacts for intermodal operators. To solve the MPEC model, a hybrid genetic algorithm (HGA) embedded with a diagonalization method for solving the parametric VI is proposed. Finally, the comparative analysis of the HGA and an exhaustive enumeration algorithm indicates a good performance of the HGA in terms of computational time and solution quality. The HGA is also applied to solve a large-scale problem to show the applicability of the proposed model and algorithm.  相似文献

In-vehicle technologies and co-operative services have potential to ease congestion problems and improve traffic safety. This paper investigates the impact of infrastructure-to-vehicle co-operative systems, case of CO-OPerative SystEms for Intelligent Road Safety (COOPERS), on driver behavior. Thirty-five test drivers drove an instrumented vehicle, twice, with and without the system. Data related to driving behavior, physiological measurements, and user acceptance was collected. A macro-level approach was used to evaluate the potential impact of such systems on driver behavior and traffic safety. The results in terms of speeds, following gaps, and physiological measurements indicate a positive impact. Furthermore, drivers’ opinions show that the system is in general acceptable and useful.  相似文献

This paper presents an evaluation, from the users’ point of view, of an advanced Bus Passenger Real Time Information System, installed at the city of Thessaloniki, Greece. In addition to the methodological approach and the findings presented, the paper explores the greater framework of evaluation procedures in which these analyses should be embedded. In total, 300 questionnaires were returned; the survey aimed to define the basic components of users’ acceptance of the new system as well as socioeconomic issues related with the estimation of the payback period of the project. The survey findings are combined with several research results from recent resembled surveys conducted in the city in previous years.  相似文献

This paper develops a mathematical model and solution procedure to identify an optimal zonal pricing scheme for automobile traffic to incentivize the expanded use of transit as a mechanism to stem congestion and the social costs that arise from that congestion. The optimization model assumes that there is a homogenous collection of users whose behavior can be described as utility maximizers and for which their utility function is driven by monetary costs. These monetary costs are assumed to be the tolls in place, the per mile cost to drive, and the value of their time. We assume that there is a system owner who sets the toll prices, collects the proceeds from the tolls, and invests those funds in transit system improvements in the form of headway reductions. This yields a bi-level optimization model which we solve using an iterative procedure that is an integration of a genetic algorithm and the Frank–Wolfe method. The method and solution procedure is applied to an illustrative example.  相似文献
