Are Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) affecting transportation industry only? ITS are currently perceived as a contribution to transportation industry only; however, by quantitatively analyzing the economic impact of ITS on the state of Michigan, this work attempts to answer the posed question. The quantitative economic analysis is carried out through the well‐established Leontief's Input–Output (I‐O) model. This model is employed to establish ITS effects on each industry by detailing RIMS II I‐O tables for Michigan constructed from the national I‐O tables. Major savings by ITS identified as reduced time delays and fuel cost savings are quantitatively simulated thereby generating an overall cost reduction factor which is incorporated in Michigan I‐O tables to modify their characteristics. ITS impact on each industry in I‐O tables is achieved by maximizing effects on certain selected industries. Impact multipliers that are customary macro‐economic measures for I‐O analysis are then calculated for all the aggregated industries. Multipliers comparison for the three cases namely before ITS implementation, conventional improvement methods, and after ITS implementation is evaluated. 通过对劳务企业与非劳务企业2种运行模式下的成本对比与效益分析,发现劳务企业的建立会触及现有模式下的利益分配,而将被抵触。但劳务企业的建立是“以人为本”,引导农民工有序流动,有利于工程质量的提高和强化安全生产,势在必行。因此,规范建筑劳务市场,促进劳务企业健康发展,必须有有效的企业运行机制和政策支持。这里就有效地建立劳务企业运行机制提出了相应的建议和措施。 相似文献

This article introduces a theme issue of the Coastal Management Journal comprising a set of articles on the potential economic benefits from new investments in coastal ocean observing systems. We describe a methodology to estimate these benefits, and apply this methodology to generate preliminary estimates of such benefits. The approach focuses on coastal ocean observing information within ten geographic regions encompassing all coastal waters of the United States, and within a wide range of industrial and recreational activities including recreational fishing and boating, beach recreation, maritime transportation, search and rescue operations, spill response, marine hazards prediction, offshore energy, power generation, and commercial fishing. Our findings suggest that annual benefits to users are likely to run in the multiple $100s of millions of dollars. The project results should be considered first-order estimates that are subject to considerable refinement as the parameters of regional observing systems are better defined, and as our understanding of user sectors improves. 相似文献

In this paper, we apply Bhat and Dubey’s (2014) new probit-kernel based Integrated Choice and Latent Variable (ICLV) model formulation to analyze children’s travel mode choice to school. The new approach offered significant advantages, as it allowed us to incorporate three latent variables with a large data sample and with 10 ordinal indicators of the latent variables, and still estimate the model without any convergence problems. The data used in the empirical analysis originates from a survey undertaken in Cyprus in 2012. The results underscore the importance of incorporating subjective attitudinal variables in school mode choice modeling. The results also emphasize the need to improve bus and walking safety, and communicate such improvements to the public, especially to girls and women and high income households. The model application also provides important information regarding the value of investing in bicycling and walking infrastructure. 相似文献
