This article explores how a fresh approach to integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) in Ireland might be forged through the identification of a number of key innovative cross-sectoral professional initiatives and interdisciplinary academic thinking in this sector. It includes three interlinked research themes that assess existing cross-sectoral data management issues (to include an assessment of readiness for the INSPIRE and compliance with the Re-use of Public Sector Information European Union Directives), the degree of cross-pollination between the various sectors involved in managing the Irish Coastal Zone (to identify the need (or otherwise) for capacity- building to encourage cross-fertilization of ideas, skills, and knowledge exchange), and cross-professional competencies (to assess the desire/need (if any) for those working in coastal zone management to add to their existing competencies through continuous professional development or lifelong learning opportunities). Indeed, the specific competencies for coastal practitioners are identified here and these further illustrate the need for professional recognition of the role, responsibilities, and therefore the requirement for an appropriately qualified “Coastal Manager” professional, one that is seen not merely as a nicety but rather a necessity—a core enabler in any future innovative and integrative management approach. 相似文献

However, its adoption in maritime organizations is relatively lagged and there is no study addressing this phenomenon so far. This paper develops a fuzzy Delphi-AHP-TOPSIS framework to identify barriers in emerging technology adoption. A case study employs this framework to investigate the hurdles for big data analytics to be adopted in the maritime industry. The case study shows that the framework is useful in identifying and ranking barriers. The results unveil the most serious managerial, cultural, and technical barriers that impede the adoption of big data analytics in maritime organizations. 相似文献

This article firstly proposes two problems related to geological structure inversion with acoustic computed tomography (CT): ① the results surveyed are different from true stratum layers; ② the existing acoustic CT inversion methods are based on wave’s travel route and velocity analysis, which is short of comprehensive analysis of the revealed geological data. Then, it puts forward the method of applying the borehole data to revise acoustic CT investigation result through controlling the boundary velocity. This method comprehensively uses acoustic data and borehole data to invert the rock masses’ shear wave speed. Comparing to calculating the rock mass’ wave speed with acoustic data alone, it makes full use of the information, and the results obtained are closer to real stratum. Finally, it applies the method to engineering project and the results gotten with the method are more accurate, which shows the reliability and accuracy of the method. 相似文献

分析了AASHTO—1993和《力学经验法路面设计指南》(MEPDG)中连续配筋混凝土路面(CRCP)平均裂缝间距模型特点,现场采集了29个CRCP试验段共计1 171条裂缝间距数据,对裂缝间距数据进行了归类、统计分析、分布拟合和方差分析。分别确定了AASHTO—1993和MEPDG模型参数,并利用采集到的裂缝间距数据对2类模型进行了有效性验证。分析结果表明:CRCP裂缝形态可划分为6类;4参数Dagum分布能更好地拟合CRCP裂缝间距分布;相同配筋率不同板厚的CRCP平均裂缝间距没有显著差异;AASHTO—1993模型高估了平均裂缝间距,误差为0.13m;MEPDG模型显著低估了平均裂缝间距,误差为1.7m。 相似文献

Accurate estimation of travel time is critical to the success of advanced traffic management systems and advanced traveler information systems. Travel time estimation also provides basic data support for travel time reliability research, which is being recognized as an important performance measure of the transportation system. This paper investigates a number of methods to address the three major issues associated with travel time estimation from point traffic detector data: data filling for missing or error data, speed transformation from time‐mean speed to space‐mean speed, and travel time estimation that converts the speeds recorded at detector locations to travel time along the highway segment. The case study results show that the spatial and temporal interpolation of missing data and the transformation to space‐mean speed improve the accuracy of the estimates of travel time. The results also indicate that the piecewise constant‐acceleration‐based method developed in this study and the average speed method produce better results than the other three methods proposed in previous studies.
