Spectral entropy analysis of different alpha band rhythms in relation to hand motor imagery

The event-related desynchronization/synchronization(ERD/ERS) time courses of lower and upper alpha band rhythms during hand motor imagery are investigated respectively by Fourier Sectral Entropy (FSE) in this paper. By analyzing one group of BCI competition data, it was found that FSE within upper alpha band displays a pronounced increase and decrease over contralateral and ipsilaterai brain areas respectively at the onset of hand motor imagery, which is corresponding to the antagonistic ERD/ERS patterns in previous studies. Different from the upper alpha activity pattern, FSE within lower alpha band displays a consistent increase over both two hemispheres hand representative areas. The preliminary results show that FSE could disclose the different behaviors of the upper and lower alpha band rhythms so that a new idea with the complexity measure is provided to characterize functional dissociation of lower and upper frequency alpha rhythms in relation to hand motor imagery.     

ARTIFICIAL IMMUNE ALGORITHM OF MULTICELLULAR GROUP AND ITS CONVERGENCE

Objective To find out more extrema simultaneously including global optimum and multiple local optima existed in multi-modal functions. Methods Germinal center is the generator and selector of high-affinity B cells, a multicellular group＇s artificial immune algorithm was proposed based on the germinal center reaction mechanism of natural immune systems. Main steps of the algorithm were given, including hyper-mutation, selection, memory, similarity suppression and recruitment of B cells and the convergence of it was proved. Results The algorithm has been tested to optimize various multi-modal functions, and the simulation results show that the artificial immune algorithm proposed here can find multiple extremum of these functions with lower computational cost. Conclusion The algorithm is valid and can converge on the satisfactory solution set D with probability 1 and approach to global solution and many local optimal solutions existed.     

THE DLSTRIBOTED MCU MODEL FOR SYNCHRONOUS REAL-TIMETELETEACHING

Aiming at issues on multimedia communication in synchronous real-time teleteaching (SRT) systems over IP network, a 4-tuple structural mode of multimedia communication is proposed in the paper, and an SRT-oriented distributed MCU model is built according to the mode. Moreover, the mechanism of multicast communication across subnets is discussed. The distributed MCU model has been applied successfully in our interactive synchronous real-time telesteaching system RealClass and has shown good extendibility in operation.     

DWT-Based Robust Color Image Watermarking Scheme

A scheme of embedding an encrypted watermark into the green component of a color image is proposed. The embedding process is implemented in the discrete wavelet transformation （DWT） domain, The original binary watermark image is firstly encrypted through scrambling technique, and then spread with two orthogonal pseudo-random sequences whose mean values are equal to zero, and finally embedded into the DWT low frequency sub-band of green components, The coefficients whose energies are larger than the others are selected to hide watermark, and the hidden watermark strength is determined by the energy ratio between the selected coefficients energies and the mean energy of the subband. The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed watermarking scheme is very robust against the attacks such as additive noise, low-pass filtering, scaling, cropping image, row （or column ） deleting, and }PEG compression.
