Design philosophy of floating bridges with emphasis on ways to ensure long life

The paper briefly outlines current design philosophies for floating bridges, with special reference to aspects that are deemed to be of interest in the context of very large floating structures. Since the design of submerged floating tunnels is done by people in the same milieu and deals with many of the same problems as in the design of floating bridges, while being in some respects more critical, some of the design philosophy of that subject is also included. The design philosophy and methodology for floating and submerged tunnel bridges draws heavily on Norwegian experiences in two large fields: offshore structures and conventional bridges.

Reliability-based calibration of fatigue design guidelines for ship structures

A simple reliability-based framework is applied to calibrate a new set of fatigue design guidelines. This new guideline considers two different approaches for the assessment of both loads, stresses and local stress raising effects, and partial safety factors must be given for any combination of these approaches. For the calibration, the lognormal reliability format is adopted because the hereby-derived partial safety factors can be combined arbitrarily. This means that with a few basic partial safety factors, the combination of partial safety factors to be applied together with any combination of calculation approaches can be determined easily. In the present paper both the adopted reliability format, the applied modeling of uncertainties and the selected target safety index are explained. Based on this, a new guideline is calibrated and the derived partial safety factors are presented. Finally, the new guideline is applied through a numerical example in order to show the applicability of the calibrated partial safety factors, and satisfactory results are found.     

北京城市铁路轨道建设采用的新技术

本文简要地介绍了北京城市铁路地面线轨道建设采用一次铺设无缝线路及钢弹簧浮置板隔震道床两项新技术的必要性、可行性 ,并简要地介绍了这两项新技术的施工工艺及其实施效果 ,其取得的成功应用经验可供今后我国城市铁路轨道建设借鉴。     

装配式公路钢桥承载力的有限元分析

指出装配式公路钢桥设计中所采用的简化计算方法的不足,使用大型有限元软件ANSYS对其受力情况和承载力进行了分析,并与简化计算方法作了对比,得出了一些规律性的结论,对实际应用具有指导意义。     

调质C级钢铸钢材料的研制

通过合理配置铸钢材料的化学成分,并配合适当的热处理工艺,研制出了满足AAR-M-201和AAR-M-211标准要求的新型调质C级钢。同时研究了热处理工艺对调质C级钢的性能影响,测定了其低温韧性和耐磨性。
