Machinery Design of Haikou-haian Line RO/PAX Vessel

This article described the machinery design of the Haikou-haian line RO/PAX vessel. The transport capacity was improved by adjusting the layout of engine room and aux. equipment room so as to adding the length of the deck line. In addition,solutions were provided for the issues on the propulsion shafting arrangement. And the emergency/port diesel generators were equipped according to the characteristic of the line. The fire fighting system was described. The calculating methods and results were also listed for the drainage system of accommodation space and vehicle cargo compartment. Several adjusting and optimization were made during the design of cargo holds ventilation.
