Bursting Failure Analysis of the Main Steam Drain Tube of Turbine

The paper analyzes the causes of the bursting failure of the drain tube by macroscopically checking the appearance of bursting,by chemically analyzing of the changes of tube components,by structurally analyzing the changes of metallographic structures,by thickness checking of the elbow thinning and by hardness checking of the changes of the strength in accordance with accidents of tube bursting on the main steam drain tube of the turbine. A conclusion is reached that causes of drain tube of bursting are material quality degradation and tube wall reduction due to the serious scouring of the medium. This paper brings forward corresponding proposals and measures for reducing and preventing similar accidents from happening again so as to ensure the equipment production safely.
