The paper briefly introduces development of health monitoring system of long - span bridge, and in the light of health monitoring system on runyang Yangtze River Bridge, it introduces yet the composition of present system, its monitoring contents, function and features. It also analyzes and compares the methods for health state evaluation, which are common for several structures.
