| Abstract: | This paper presents an overview of the existing mass transit railway (MTR) system and its development history in Hong Kong. The metro network, its operation and new extension under construction and planning are outlined. The railway-related businesses such as property development, advertisement, and communications as well as commercial businesses developed in stations are also briefed. |
