| Abstract: | Nonmonotonic reasoning
and nonmonotonic truth maintenance are two important research aspects of artificial
intelligence, which have close relations. Existing nonmonotonic truth maintenance systems can
be used as the theorem provers of conventional nonmonotonic logics, but they can't represent
and deal with prioritized nonmonotonic reasoning. This paper presented stratified truth
maintenance systems which can represent and deal with prioritized justifications. It will be
shown that the stratified ATMS can be used as a theorem prover of prioritized nonmonotonic
logics. |
