In the speed-up reconstruction of the existting long trunk railway in a country, most of the subgrade of the existing line is low embankment, and some sections are even zero fill subgrade. The flood damage of the line is more serious. the specifications for the design flood frequency in the railway subgrade design code are not unified. Based on the analysis of hydrological characteristics and disaster causing mode of the project, the design standards are proposed and comprehensive solutions for the flood damage are made. It can provide practical guidance for code revision and speed-up transformation of existing lines.
