Prospects on the Development of Aircraft Carriers

In this article, the development of aircraft carriers worldwide in the past years is introduced, and different views on the roles it once has played over the last century are summarized. An outlook for the technology development of aircraft carriers, carrier-borne aircraft, carrier-landing system, power system, electric power system and combat systems is therefore presented.
