Discussion on shipboard variable frequency cable

As the variable frequency drives (VFD) widely used in the marine engineering and marine equipments, the special cable that supports the frequency converter develops rapidly. This paper discusses the problems of shipboard variable frequency cable during the application from the cable conifguration, key performance and cable installation. It also introduces the type selection, the insulation and voltage property, grounding conductor and the demands of shielding performance for the different cable conifgurations, and the process of the shielding and grounding wire during the cable installation.
