The conditions of the complex mountainous terrain and geology still determine the complexity of the route design.?Based on the new ideas of highway design from the Ministry of Communication,the article analyzes the characteristics of mountain highway route design,summed up the basic principles of the mountain highway route design under the new ideas by combined with the detail design practice,and puts forward the problems for attention in the implementation of new ideas of designing the mountainous highway route.
