The New Type of High Speed Trains AVE S 103 in Spain

The high speed trains AVE S 103 are the new type of high speed trains developed by Siemens for RENFE on the basis of the first generation ICE 3 in Germany.In this paper,the features of AVE S 103 train as well as its differences with ICE 3 are described.The improvements on the traction device,airconditioning system and the on-board power supply at higher outside temperatures are expounded.In the mean time,with the consideration of the taste of Spanish,elaborate designs are made for the different coach classes,the diverse passenger amenities,as well as the overall design and interior ambience.
