| Abstract: | For regional service in Great Britain the EMU family Desiro UK has been developed which can easily be adapted to thevarious needs there. The design considers two types of electric power supply networks, different lengths of cars and trains and two differenthead outlines of the end cars. A particular challenge resulted from the requirements of the approval procedure which had a significant impact onthe traction system and the vehicle control design. |
