Highway Multiple Arch Tunnels Overcut Statistical Features

Overcut is a key problem often met in tunneling,it directly influences project construction period and investment.Based on investigation to overcut site at certain highway multiple arch tunnel,this paper conducts statistical features evaluation to geometric shape and size of the overcut blocks.Using the statistics principle and model science principle,such evaluation covers feature analysis of overcut blocks projection edge,area,block volume,etc.The paper discloses the rule of geometric/volumetric distribution of overcut blocks in multiple arch tunnels and illustrates the unique overcut features of multiple arch tunnels,compared with single arch tunnels.
