随着经济全球化和现代物流的发展,我国经济进入了新一轮上升周期。港口的崛起是中国经济迅速发展的一个缩影。眼下全国各地港口建设如火如荼,高歌猛进。然而,在其大张旗鼓忙建设的背后,记者隐约感觉到一丝不安与担忧。

Port development needs great action but also greater vision

Since 2003, driven by the high growth of Chinese economy and foreign trade, the world shipping industry has entered into a flourishing era. Port throughputs increase rapidly while domestic demands are keeping up. The overall capacity of global ports is insufficient with port congestion happening everywhere. China also faces the same shortage. On the national transport work meeting, minister of communications Zhang Chunxian indicated that the overall capacity for coastal ports had a gap of 500 million tons. To alleviate the intense congestion, all ports throughout the country are increasing investment in port infrastructure, blowing up the clarion of a construction climax.
