Comparative study on bearing capacity of single pile between empirical method and pile test method in a wharf project

A wharf project in Tianjin is planned to adopt prestressed concrete square pile for wharf construction.In the early investigation process, it is very important to study and determine the vertical ultimate bearing capacity of single pile for the design and construction of subsequent projects. The site investigation project department organized and arranged the static load test of single pile in the preliminary investigation of the project, and estimated the axial bearing capacity of single pile according to the experience value of relevant specifications.Based on the engineering example, the axial ultimate bearing capacity of single pile obtained from the standard empirical method and the static load test of the proposed prestressed concrete square pile is compared, which provides experience reference for the subsequent engineering survey, design and construction.
