Taking the foundation treatment of the Cbaerhan station signal cabin, the emergency project of Xige Section additional second line in Qinghai-Tibet railway, as an example, this article introduces specifically the construction techniques for foundation treatment in the plateau salt lake district, including excavating foundation ditch to lower the underground brine level, and using rubbles and pebbles to fill and compact in layers so as to ensure the non-watertight, corrosion-resistant and bearing capacity of the foundation. The application of such construction technique in the project had not only shortened the construction period but also reduced the construction cost, with the completion of the project on schedule.
