特殊钢作为摩托车零部件材料，这几年得到广泛应用及发展，从结构材料向功能材料、从单一材料向复合材料，成份和结构也由简单向复杂转变。同传统材料相比，轻量化材料在物理、化学性能等诸多方面存在显著差异，导致生产应用中难以完全照搬原有的设计理念和传统的制造技术。因此，新材料的应用决不是对原有材料的简单替代，而是涉及到技术、经济、安全、环境等诸多方面的复杂系统工程，需要解决从材料到零部件、直至使用维修和回收等全过程中所出现的各种问题。
