| Abstract: | This paper introduces the characteristics of common structure rules for bulk carriers.Taking the design of a 54 500 dwt bulk carrier as example,the reasons that the plate thickness is much larger than that of the parent ship are analyzed.The influence of the implemantation of the common structure rules for bulk carriers on the bulk carrier design is pointed out. |
