Traffic simulation models can be classified into three types, macroscopic, mesoscopic, and microscopic simulation models. The mesoscopic traffic simulation model combines the merit of macroscopic and microscopic simulation models. In China, studies on macroscopic and microscopic traffic simulation models have been extensive, however, similar studies on the mesoscopic traffic simulation models are scare. According to the model structure and functions of mesoscopic traffic simulation models INTEGRATION, applications are introduced based on examples, which are of great significance for promoting the study of mesoseopie traffic simulation models and improvement of road network planning.
